Gratitude Wrap Fit Review

Today, I had to go to my local store to try on the Gratitude Wrap. I missed out on them last time & I had to see what they were all about.

Here’s a pretty picture I found in a PN:

Heathered White Gratitude Wrap & Winter Orchid/ Deep Zinfandel Vinyasa scarf

I’ll start at the top & move down. First, the collar is fantastic and can be worn all the way buttoned up, or with the first one or two undone. It’s tres chic! It’s fitted across the chest when buttoned, and flares out all the way to the bottom. The arms are really tight. I stayed true to size, but both my size and my size up felt tight in the arms, so I decided that sizing up was pointless. The one thing that sort of bothered me was that the threads where they sewed the buttons on were un-trimmed. It makes the garment look unfinished and cheap. I’ll be cutting them myself, to the best of my ability, but it would have been nice if everything looked tidy to begin with. I do love the two pockets, they’re perfect for throwing your hands into on a cold day. The cinch at the bottom is a cute detail, but I probably won’t be using it. I find the fit flattering overall, and I went home with a Deep Zinfandel Gratitude Wrap, and a Paris Perfection Bang Buster. Because we all know I need more Bang Busters.

Anyways- I hope y’all get a chance to grab one- they’re super popular & selling out quick!

Some Goodies From Australia

Here are a few things I noticed in Australia. I’m sure we won’t get everything I saw, but I’m hoping for a few things to reach North America.

New Clear Mint Color

New: In A Flash Singlet
New: In A Flash Singlet

Since this is the Summer line in Australia, I’m not 100% sure the In A Flash Singlet will make it here, but there are a ton of items in the Clear Mint color. Quite a few have already been uploaded. Speed Shorts in Clear Mint are in Australia, so hopefully those make it here.

Core Kicker Crop - back Core Kicker Crop in Assorted Stripe Bleached Coral:Inkwell

These Core Kicker Crops have already been uploaded in solid black. I really like these in the Assorted Stripe Bleached Coral/Inkwell.

Track Tee - back Track Tee in Clear Mint:Surge

I love this Track Tee in Clear Mint/ Surge. I really want to try it on.

Again, this stuff is on the Australia side, so I really HOPE we get it, but you never know. The 105 Singlet is coming in Clear Mint too, so we might not get the In A Flash Singlet. I am looking forward to try on the Track Tee. I hope it comes here!

NEW Items for Your Holiday Shopping Pleasure

Product notifications generally give me some insight on what’s coming up in the future and I think I’ll likely be doing more and more posts about what’s new as I’ve noticed that some of my more popular posts are about the latest things.

Here goes:

Currently, on the website the Keep It Up jacket is available in White, but I found a product notification that indicates its upcoming availability in Inkwell/ Laceflage Embossed Inkwell.

I'm excited for the return of the Laceoflage print.

And the back, not too crazy about the bottom part that flares out a little, but I'll have to try this one on.

This jacket will also be available in plain black.

Next Up: The Yogi Racer Tank, currently available in Misty Stripe Burnout Inkwell will be coming out in Misty Stripe Burnout Raspberry, and Misty Stripe Burnout Black. The Raspberry version is pictured below.

This might be nice for a hot yoga practice.

And the reverse.

That looks comfy. I have never tried these, I wonder if I’ll like them better than the 105 singlets for hot yoga. I really love the color though. I’m a sucker for pink & pink derivatives.

Number 3: not a new product, just a new color, the Just Be SS Tee, that is currently available on the website in misty stripe burnout white, misty stripe burnout surge, misty stripe burnout black & misty stripe burnout bleached coral is coming out in misty stripe burnout inkwell, as pictured below.

I don't love this, but the black or inkwell will look great over an LS swiftly in a lighter color and this shirt in surge is actually quite vibrant!

Finally, a product notification provided me with a couple of photos of the new Scuba Hoodie *Str SE Vest, indicating that this Scuba Hoodie will have removable sleeves.

The Gorgeous New Fluff Off Line + Pullover Fit Review

This upload was kind of amazing.

The Fluff Off line was uploaded tonight.

Fluff Off Pullovers $158

I absolutely loved the black one, especially with the Herringbone fabric (SO NICE!) But I caved for the Surge one, for two reasons: 1) Coloured Pique. I’ve never seen a Lululemon Coloured Pique item. 2) Pique, as I’ve mentioned in previous posts doesn’t pill as easily as Herringbone fabric. I want my pretty pretty (future unicorn- LOL) pullover to last. As. Long. As. Possible. If possible: Forever.

The Fluff Off vests, which don’t excite me that much look like this:

These are pretty nice for $128. I’ll pass for now, I’ll let you know if they go to mark down 🙂

And finally the Fluff Off Jacket $198

UPDATE: I got a chance to try on the Fluff Off Pullover & I found them to be true to size, but of slim fit. I found my size up to be sloppy looking, but I wanted to try it so, I did.  My TTS was difficult to pull on & off, but it looked fabulous & was so soft. If you open the side zippers, its easier, to pull on & off. I can’t wait until mine comes in the mail! I’m glad I got the right size because my store is completely sold out of the Surge Fluff Off Pullovers, except for one: a size 12.

UPDATE: Tues Dec 2, 2014

I just wanted to post an update to let y’all know that the Fluff Off Pullovers are back this year! Online only! They look amazing! I’ll be posting a size review when I get mine in the mail.

Things I LOVE Right Nowt

Hello! I wanted to share with y’all some current favorites of mine, and I think that most, if not all are still available in-store, if not also online. I think that this will be a running segment. I am currently loving the Deep Zinfandel Rose Herringbone Print Scuba hoodie. It is the same print as last year’s rose herringbone, but it’s not Alberta Lake (a green-black color). I didn’t love the Alberta Lake color and I only bought the Herringbone Wunder Unders in Alberta because, well, they’re Wunder Unders and I love them. So I am much more excited about this year’s Rose Herringbone print in Deep Zinfandel.

I ordered this on Monday, and as of this writing it is still available online in all sizes here. I also love the Raspberry Wunder Unders *RVRS, but I can’t do bright bottoms.

These are also still available, as of this writing here.

Midnight Iris Marked Down in-store & online

Just a quickie post on the latest items to hit the in-store/ online markdown rack at Lululemon. When the color ‘Midnight Iris’ first came out, I was pretty much disinterested because I already had some items in the color ‘Spring Has Sprung,’ but, since everything in the color ‘Midnight Iris’ has gone to Mark Down/ Loot/ We Made Too Much, I find myself unable to resist having at least a few items in this colorway for myself. I can never turn down a good deal!

For reference, here’s a photo of Midnight Iris next to Spring has Sprung!

Left: Midnight Iris Right: Spring Has Sprung
Left: Midnight Iris
Right: Spring Has Sprung

So, I bought a Flow Y bra for $29, a CRB for $29 and an NLT for $39. I got both the Flow Y & CRB at a 30.95% discount and the NLT at a 39.06% discount. [(X-Y)/X]

(Not sure what a CRB or NLT is? Check out my previous post about Lululemon Slang here.)

Caution: I think the main reason the colorway went on sale is because it’s mostly Polyester. (The CRB itself is 94% Polyester, but it’s pretty, so… I figure, why not?)

Note: I wouldn’t try my first Forme Jacket in this color if I were you. Even considering the discount, the inside is gray, and it’s just not very attractive. You can also see in the photos online that when you flip the cuffs over it’s gray as well. Not to mention that the discount is only 17%.

UPDATE!

This morning Lululemon put more things in Midnight Iris on “We Made Too Much.” I ordered a Pace Setter Skirt in that pattern. Did you buy anything on markdown?

UPDATE: Wore the CRB, super poly-feeling, but still pretty snazzy lookin’! I LOVE the NLT in this print & can’t wait to wear it again!

The New Shopping Tote being offered by Lululemon

I’ve seen a couple of blogs address the new shopping tote offered by Lululemon. In my opinion, it’s just another example of Lululemon pushing the envelope, like they always do. I don’t think it goes too far, even though the bag features text created using images of, among other things: tobacco, alcohol, sugary treats, drugs needles, condoms, playing cards, and marijuana cigarettes. Below are two pictures of the bag.

Photo 2 of Bag Picture of Brahmacharya Bag

Allow me to transcribe here what is written on the side, because I’m unsure if it is clear from the photo. The front of the bag, obviously says “Brahmacharya.” The side of the bag says the same & offers the following definition: (moderation, non-excess) This yama, or yogic philosophy, teaches us to recognize that moment of “just enough” so we don’t move past it into uncomfortable excess. Maybe it’s pushing away the plate of french fries or using our pent-up energy for a run. By focusing inward, we keep our bodies healthy & energetic. (And hey, there are some things we’re better off avoiding altogether.) Where in your life could you practice moderation?

There is a message here to take into consideration about moderation, however, the only thing I think I may need to moderate is my Lululemon consumption. Do you think they’re trying to tell me something?

Talking Market Trends

I want to take the time to talk Lululemon after-market trends. The market suffers and benefits from general and somewhat predictable fluctuations. I want to discuss with you how we can take advantage of the good times and mitigate the losses in the bad times. In the following scenarios, my suggestions refer to the common person. There are exceptions to every rule, I’ll even try to cover them, but again: My advice applies to the average collector.

Seasonal– Seasonal fluctuations are easy enough to understand, but surprisingly few people use their own common sense to their advantage. People are not searching for shorts in the winter, nor are they seeking out sweaters in the summer. There are over 15,000 listings of “Lululemon” items on eBay- every single day. If you want to stand out, you have to make sure you’re selling your item when as many people as possible are interested in buying it. I suggest listing your sweaters at the beginning of Autumn, and shorts at the beginning of Spring. I also suggest you consider the weather patterns of the biggest markets for your item. Canadians will want more cold-weather items. If you’re a US seller, you might also consider adding a Canadian shipping option. (There are some extra risks involved with shipping abroad that can be alleviated, but I will cover them in a future post.) Therefore, if I were selling a sweater, I would list it mid to late September as average temperatures tend to begin becoming cooler around this time.

Secondary Seasonal Considerations There are other so-called seasonal conditions to evaluate. One of them is the fact that the Designers in MANY companies seem to release their best efforts in fall. The fall fashion shows are always the most anticipated and Lululemon’s strategy is not different. It seems like every fall they release the best stuff. I know people who don’t buy much in summer, so they can save up for fall! They usually release some special edition items around Christmas, although, last year was a bust. During these times, people are spending more money on Upload night, and in-store on new items, so they’re not looking at eBay or on the Facebook Pages for deals on older items. The point of this story is: avoid selling when people don’t have the money to buy. The irony is that it will likely be when you need the money the most that you decide to sell. But don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉

Unicorns- Unicorns change over time (Don’t know what a Unicorn is? Check out my Previous Post about Lululemon Slang), but often you can take advantage of when your item obtains unicorn status and cash out, unless you love it. Then, I say keep it. But if you have a “Unicorn,” and you notice that it has been doing very well on eBay, you should make a decision on whether or not you’re going to sell- And Fast! Because there is always a limited number of people who are willing to pay the big bucks for something they really want right now, and then there are people like me, who will wait for it to pop up on eBay for cheaper. However, there are some things that maintain their value fairly well and I will continue to discuss those things in future posts.
