Where to Find Size Dots on Lululemon

Hello everyone!

Today I want to write a post that might be helpful to people just trying to figure out what size something they have is, whether they purchased it online, or are trying to sell it and can’t recall what size it is.

This post is designed to complement my other post on “How to Spot Fake Lululemon,” since the presence of a size dot can help determine authenticity. However, it is important to state that the lack of a size dot does not mean that an item is fake. Some Lululemon items are made without a size dot. Other times, it has simply fallen off.

I am hoping that people find this guide convenient for when tear-out tags have been removed by the owner, or simply fallen off.

Tank tops:

Tank tops with bras, for the most part, do have size dots! They are hidden in the opening where bra pads would fit in, usually on the left (if you were wearing it) side.

Inside the bra of this No Limits tank, you can see the size dot.

Unfortunately, I have to say that, with bra-less tanks, you’re mostly on your own for these ones. 105F Singlets, Cool Racerbacks, my beloved Sculpt tanks, and many other singlet/ racerback-type tanks do not have size dots. There is a rare exception here or there, but for the most-part, size dots are not present on these items.

Bras:

Just like the tank tops with bras, bras also have their size dots located inside where the bra pads go.

Swiftlies

For any type of swiftly, if it has an indication of size, it will likely not be in the form of a traditional size dot. The size is more likely to be conveyed on the bottom, inside of the garment.

This Swiftly has its bottom hem turned up, and under it we can see a motivational quote, followed by the size, “6”

Pants/Crops:

Wunder Unders, and basically any flat waistband-style pants that Lululemon makes have a size dot in the tiny waistband pocket that is intended to be used for either a credit card or gels.

Wunder Under Size Dot
In the front, tiny, waistband pocket, there is a size dot.

For many Luxtreme crops, there is a size dot in the back waistband zippered pocket. Not all Luxtreme crops have zippered back pockets, but for the ones that do, there is a high degree of probability that the size dot is located inside.

For any other types of pants, including Dance Studio Pants and crops as well as Base Runners, and other tracks pants, generally speaking, the size dot is located in the front left (if you’re wearing them) pocket. Sometimes, it is inside an even tinier pocket inside that pocket.

Base runners, bottom of left pocket
These Base Runners have their size dot located in the bottom of the left pocket.

Some of the seamless-style pants (think Flow & Go) have their size dot expressed much in the same way as the Swiftlies, in that it is not so much a dot as it is written directly on the fabric in an inconspicuous way.

For many other items’ size dots can be found by searching back zippered pockets, any other type of pocket, or flipping the garment inside out.

Let me know in the comments if this post helps you! Or, if you think I’m missing something and I’ll add it to my article! It’s always great to hear from you!

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. Hi! Longtime Lulu addict here! Love your blog, and this post helped me a lot with buying Lulu items on sites like Poshmark. I’m obsessed with In the Flow Crops, I have about 10 pairs now 😂 I just bought a pair off Posh and it is the first pair that doesn’t have the size sewn into the left leg hem (like Swiftly tops). They otherwise appear authentic (I’m somewhat of a seamstress myself so I can scrutinize stitching, seams, and fabric), but they’re definitely not the size they were listed. With ITF Crops, they have these little rolls or bars sewn into the waistband, and I’ve heard mention those can indicate size, but I don’t know what they mean! All my other ITF crops are confirmed size 4 and have 1 bar. These have 3 bars! Any ideas?? Thanks!!

    1. Hi there, thank you so much for the compliment on my blog! I love to write and am constantly working on new projects/ posts. I had not heard about the bars indicating size. I’m sorry that the size is not indicated on the crops themselves. You can always submit a claim. Like eBay, Poshmark often takes the buyer’s side in disputes. I would also recommend contacting Lulu Customer service to ask- they do live chat now too! I hope you find an answer!

      1. The bars indicate size also. One bar ous a size 2. Two bars is a size 4. Three bars is a size 6, etc. How this helps. Also thanks for the hidden dots info. Found some in places i never would have looked before i read this!

  2. The bars work like this from what I can tell, 1 bar=size 4, 2 bars=size 6, 3 bars=size 8, 4 bars=size 10… on the ebb to street pants I have there’s 3 bars on the inside back of the waistband, then there’s a single bar on the side which I don’t understand what that means.

    1. Better yet all ebb to street pants have an actual number in the inside of the ankle cuff of the left leg. It’ll be around the edge where the pants meet the cuff. It’s not a normal size dot. It’s more like the swiftly one pictured. Just a number in the ribbing pattern of the cuff.

      1. I don’t know for sure, but one bar meaning a size two would make sense. However, I am not sure that these styles of pants come in size two, so if they don’t then one bar meaning size 4 would make sense then. I think I’ll try to get to the bottom of this by a) taking a good look at my own collection and b) contacting Lululemon’s customer service to ask them for the inside scoop! Thanks for your comment!

            1. Hello again! Thanks for coming back to confirm! I spoke to customer service and they said that it was more of a “small, medium, large,” thing, but I trust the community more about this stuff. Thanks for confirming the size 2! 🙂

    1. Right pocket would be my first guess. Flip the pocket inside out- those size dots like to hide! Apart from there, literally any other pocket. If not, I’ve never heard of a size dot being anywhere else for a large jacket like that.

      1. Thank you for your quick response! I found it! Deep Inside the mesh phone pocket stitched within the right side pocket….had to look really far down but it was in there!

    1. I don’t know if they have them on Love tee’s. I would only check the pocket and then maybe the inside of the bottom hem, but I’m not sure they place size dots on Love tee’s. I wish I could be more helpful!

  3. What about crops that have two vertical zippers as pockets? I haven’t seen any like this in store- and the tag is conveniently ripped off. I don’t know how to include pictures on this post and not sure if you’ll approve comments with links. I can attach them or email them to you as I just won the item but am a little concerned about it being fake. Also, the circle size dot seems wrong. It had X, 5, 0, 4, 1, 6 (clockwise) and then a 4 in the middle.

      1. Do you have any clue on men’s shorts? Specifically the T.H.E. limitless short. I looked inside the small mesh pocket and nothing 😦

  4. Im trying to determine the style of skirt I have. Could that possibly be on the size dot? Above thr size, 44796, and below LW821OR. Grateful for insight, as this skirt fits better than some of the newer ones I have purchased.
    Thanks

    1. Hello Wendy, I don’t know if that indicates the style (never heard of it indicating it before, but I could be wrong) but you can always email me or FB message photos to me so I can try to determine the style of skirt it is. Alternatively, you can visit the ladies of Lululemon A2Z Facebook group and ask them or search through their albums to find out. Glad you found a skirt you like and feel free to send pics of that to me.

    1. Lululemon leggings don’t always have a pocket. Especially the luxtreme ones. You can always email me using the contact info on my “about me” page, if you want me to take a look. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I have a pair of clamdiggers made with the thicker fabric. It has a back zip pocket and a drawstring waist. I cannot find a size located anywhere. I bought them, but I wear several sizes in Lululemon. Any ideas of where to find the size?

    1. Usually the size dot is in the pocket… I would check and and all pockets, and the bottom of the pant legs on the inside seam. I hope that helps! Sometimes there is no size dot or the size dot falls off~ I hope you find it!

  6. I just bought a pair of Wunder Under high-waisted leggings. Are they supposed to have a size dot somewhere? I can’t find one. Also, there is no small pocket anywhere on the waistband. I had contacted the seller and they said the pants are a few seasons old but are authentic. Do all the Wunder-Under high waisted leggings come with size dots and/or a pocket?

    1. Hello Christine! Thanks for your question! The high waited ones don’t always have the waist band pocket. I would try turning them inside out to see if there is a size dot anywhere, but unfortunately they don’t always have a size dot- I hope that helps!
