Here’s a cute outfit idea from a Lululemon store in Montclair. She’s wearing a Pack-It Vest, the Kanto Catch Me long sleeve in Herringbone, and the All The Right Places pants in Cranberry. Such a cute Fall outfit!
Here are some photos of the details of the vest:

The Align Pant- New Colors now in-store!
I’ll admit, I was tempted. I went TWICE to the store to try on the Align pant. They were practically all gone by the time I arrived Monday afternoon, the first time, and I tried my normal size, but I’m between sizes right now, so I figured I’ll wait until they get re-stocked in my “between sizes” size, and try them again.
The next time that happened was about a week later, and this did not change my opinion of them. They feel amazing, but I am just not quite sold. First off, I don’t love high-waisted pants. I have a couple of pairs in a select print or two, and while I don’t love the high waist, I get a lot of use out of them because I love the print. Second, while the fabric is exceptionally soft, I don’t like the way they feel. I want them to feel like a Wunder Under, and they don’t, so it’s really just a couple of preference issues so far. The third reason I don’t love them is because the fabric feels thin to me and, fourth, I read online that it attracts dog hair quite easily. I have a white dog. This would not go well with these pants. Fifth, the fabric at the ankle is bunchy, I guess if I were taller that this might not be a problem, but it bothered me, I even took a picture.
That said, yet another reason I did not buy them was because they’re boring. I have a pair of black Wunder Unders, I also have a few pairs of other black pants. I don’t need more black in my wardrobe.
With regards to size- if you’re between sizes like me, go with your smaller size.
So, as per the title of this post, it’s good to see that Lulu has manufactured and is now stocking, in-store, Align Pants with colored waistbands. Honestly, they are so so soft, and while I still probably won’t rush out to buy them, at least this is a step in the right direction. If they throw a great print on them, like the cherry cheeta one I saw in this bra I spoke about recently, well, I might have to pick up a pair.
Here they are, in store- I think the blue is Saphire and the pink looks like Pink Shell but is likely not.
What do YOU think about the Align pants? Have you tried them? So many people are enjoying them! I’d love to hear your opinion.
Fluffin’ Awesome Jackets and other new FALL goodies!
Like I’ve said in previous posts, Lululemon is coming out with all the fabulous things right around now and I’ve gathered a few great examples from Facebook of what these new items look like in real life. I really like the Fluffin Awesome jackets, even though I don’t love the shiny quality, I think they look really cute, IRL. My only question has to do with sizing. I have often read that these are a size-up item if you expect to be able to layer a Scuba Hoodie underneath. I have yet to see them in-store, but if I do, I will update with an opinion on size!
This is the Scuba that was peeking out from under the Fluffin’ Awesome jacket above. This is not my favorite pattern, but it’s still cute and good to know that a thick cotton fleece scuba can fit under a Fluffin Awesome jacket.
Wow @ this vest! I love the Fluffin Awesome vest in Alarming! I’ve been kind of vest obsessed this month! Preparing for the cool fall weather I kind of want this. Maybe in a different color though, I don’t think I look great in red.
I’m not really into the High Times (weird, I know), but I really like these *Metta ones with this interesting mesh detail.
Wow. That’s an incredible Yogi! And so well-dressed! 🙂 I want to see that Cool Racerback in person to see how close it is to Paris Pink.
More of these Stirrup Wunder Unders. I’m not into the Stirrups, because I often worry that they’ll get dirty. But last time I checked they were selling well online. What do you like about them?
I love this pattern, but not this bra style. I hope this comes out in a Flow Y.
That’s all for now! What do you think about the return of the Fluffin Awesome jacket? Did you size up for layering? Let me know!
What I Love Right Now
Hello everyone!
I’m trying to get back into the swing of things & I haven’t done one of these posts in quite some time, so here are a few things I’m loving right now!
First: It’s officially the beginning of Fall and that is exactly the point at which Lululemon rolls out their best stuff. Marketing research tells us that people buy things for themselves until mid-November, then they start buying for others. So, between now and mid-November Lululemon will make things for us, and after that we will probably see that “black, white and pink,” color palette that is generally quite bland and will take us through the January “return season.” Until then, if you like color in your life, Lululemon should continue to release bold colors and new products.
Vent It Out Crop
The first thing I want to talk about are these “Vent It Out” Crops. First, I absolutely love the color. It’s called “space dye twist ultra violet multi/naval blue,” and it’s gorgeous and flattering. Here are a couple of pics of me trying them on. I bunch the shirt up so that you can see how the waistband lays in the picture.
I like these because they remind me of my Beach Runner Crops in terms of feel, and they remind me of the Excel crops in terms of design and function. The main differences being that they’re not as thin as the Beach Runners, and not as tight around the knees as the Excels. I like the little criss-cross detail along the side. It’s difficult to see in the photo, and is certainly subtle in real life, as well, but it’s a nice touch. If I had one criticism, it would be that the back pocket is ‘zipperless,’ as they mention in the hang tag. I would not put anything in that pocket for fear that it would fall out, but since I rarely use those pockets it doesn’t really affect me.
Scuba Hoodie III *Terry
At first I was skeptical about these, but after trying one on in-store, I’m sold and I might seek these out in the future as a replacement for the cotton fleece of the traditional Scuba Hoodie. The biggest difference I noticed was the Terry one was stretchy, while I find that the fleece ones tend to be a little stiff- especially when you first get them. Does anyone else find that too? In addition, and this is why I think I’m interested in seeing these in my closet: they’re thinner. Living in the South brings a lot of mild weather, which can sometimes be cool, but is seldom unbearably cold. These Terry Scubas incorporate one of my favorite styles with a more wearable fabric. This pattern is gorgeous!
Diamond Jacquard Wunder Unders
It is the beginning of Fall and Lulu has released some pretties for cold weather comfort. Enter diamond jacquard space dye black slate Wunder Under Pants. They’re gorgeous and soft, and warm and cozy… And they’re online and in-store right now!
The first photo shows a close up of the pattern. If you already have some pique Luon pants, you made not need these. They feel and look very similar.
What are you loving right now? Let me know!
The Return of the Irreplacable Define Jacket
Hello friends!
In case you missed it: Somerlea announced the triumphant return of a classic, yet indispensable design: The Define Jacket.
It’s hard for me to truly articulate how very much I have missed this design. Here are Britt’s Picks for next Tuesday, showcasing that the Define Jacket will be home for the holidays!
Some of you may remember my post about a year ago about the Define Jacket versus the Forme Jacket. If you’re used to the Forme Jacket, and you want to see what the differences are, you might want to check that out. I also wrote about the Define Jacket when I lamented how, although I was excited that the Savasana Wrap was coming back, I was also disappointed that the Define Jacket only received a small portion of the vote during the “Hey Lululemon” contest.
I can’t wait to see what colors come out & if the fit and feel are exactly how they used to be. I’ll make sure to post about this as soon as I see them in-store. Thanks for reading!
UPDATE: HeyLululemon.com has been retired by Lululemon as of May 16, 2016
Race Your Pace 1/2 Zip Review
I stopped in my local store the other day and picked this top up. I really like the fit and would call it true to size. First I’ll address what I’ve heard on the Lulu boards which is that the Rulu is thinner than past versions. I have to agree, but this does not prevent me from enjoying this top. It is just as soft as past versions, which I love, so, even though it’s thinner that is not as important to me as the fact that it is so soft and feels nice against the skin. I’ve also read in the reviews online that the seams are itchy. I guess they could be, based on the way that they’re finished, but they honestly have not been bothering me.
The things I like about this top are things I typically enjoy about all Lulu tops, and if you read my review on the Race With Grace Half Zips, then you’ll know that for me, it’s all about the details. So, first, I liked the fact that it was a half-zip. I tried on the Race Your Pace top, (the basic pullover, not the half zip), and I did not like the fit, and the neck hole was too big (the straps of my Flow Y Bra showed). Of course, Lulu always includes a zipper garage, which I like, however, these new 2-way zippers on the half-zips to quote let you “catch a breeze mid-stride” seriously make no sense. No one will ever use this. I went easier on this 2-way zipper feature in my “Race With Grace” review, but having experience with it now, I can be more definitive about the fact that I definitely won’t ever use this feature.
I like the little reflective details on the forearms, and the cuffins with the “cold hands,” “warm heart” inscription written in reflective material. And of course, there’s a small pocket near the left-hand side towards the back that is well concealed through a teeny tiny zipper. It’s strange that I will rarely; if ever, use this pocket, yet I hold no contempt towards it as I do towards the ridiculous two-way zipper.
So, I guess to summarize, this is a great light-weight fall top with a few cute details and one ridiculous one. It is true to size and the Rulu is soft as ever, though slightly thinner.
I hope this review helps if you’re thinking about buying this.
What do you think about this top? True to size? Will you use the two-way zipper? Let me know in the comments below!
UPDATE:
In response to a reader comment below (Thanks, Anne!) I decided to post this photo:
So, it does seen to be a little “unfinished.” It is not attached (sewn flat) on the sides to the shirt itself. Like I said above, I DO see how it could be itchy, but I love it anyways 🙂
The Return of Bhakti Yoga Shorts
I am so excited to see the return of the Bhakti Yoga Shorts this year. I really would love to know why Lululemon released these last year in the fall/winter season and again this year in the same, without a summer release, but I am still very excited to see their return to the shelves. I was worried that perhaps they were not popular enough to warrant another release when they were not released this summer, but alas, Lululemon has decided to keep them a fall/winter item (for some reason). I mentioned these in my fit review about the Bhakti line here, and I said that I would be wearing them on vacation and on hot summer days. Indeed I wore them for almost the entirety of my Caribbean cruise, as well as on hot summer nights. It was a mild summer compared to last year, but I found myself wearing them in July and August nonetheless.
Pictured above are two pairs from last year. They’re back this year in Heathered Black & Inky Floral Soot Black/ Heathered Black. I hope we get some colours! We only got 4 last year, Petal Pop (waistband, black otherwise), Baroque Blue, Fresh Teal (also waistband only) and Black. I hope we get some more colours- I got the black ones and the blue ones, and I don’t need more black. I would die for some purple ones! What do you think of the Bhakti Yoga Shorts? Have you tried them? What do you think of the new run? Let me know in the comments below!
Product Drop Week of August 12, 2014
Pretty Exciting Upload/ new products available this week! Here’s what I got:
I tried on the Miss Misty Pullover and my size seemed a little tight in the underarms. I could have dealt with it, but I also might have decided to size up if I was going to purchase. In the end, I decided that I still don’t love the Glyde fabric. The Gym to Win duffel is super cute, but I just don’t need another bag right now.
I got the Pleat To Street Skirt, what did you get?
Product Drop: Week of August 5 2014
