What I’m Loving Right Now

Hello everyone!

SO HAPPY to be doing one of these posts again! I am here to tell you what I am loving right now… and maybe one thing I’m not. 🙂

The first thing I am absolutely adoring at the moment are the new, limited edition Define Jackets *Pleat

Define Jacket Pleat

I definitely got the black one, and I don’t even wear black that much. I might go for the other two if they don’t sell out too quickly.

The second thing I am LOVING are these Crystalline Multi Wunder Unders. I don’t love that they’re lined in white- and sold out in my size at my local Lululemon- BUT, they’re gorgeous, and I’ll probably end up with something in this print in my hands some time soon.

Crystalline Multi Wunder Under

I am absolutely in love with the new collection that first arrived in Asia and has migrated to the United States. These Carmine True Red/ Black Train Times crops will be mine. As soon as I saw them on the US site, I leapt from my bed to run to my local Lulu in search of the awesomeness. They did not have them- and sadly I had forgotten about the “Find in Store” button option on the item page.

I did, however, pick up the matching Sweat Times Bra. Very nice indeed.

So many appealing items! The Stash N’ Run bra looks just like my beloved Run Stuff Your Bras, minus the middle pocket! But that’s OK! I’ll give them a chance once more colors are released.

Then there’s the Wild Twist 7/8 Tights! I love these! I KIND of wish the “Magnet Grey” part was reflective, but hey, you can’t always get what you want! Worth noting that there does appear to be a tiny strip of reflective material at the base of the tights. But I just love these! They seem so fun 🙂 This colorway is called: Black/White/Magnet Grey.

They also have Redwood/Auburn/Quicksand, which I don’t fully love… I hope they come out with something more vivid, and less muted.

I was also really happy to see Strides back in style! Strides do not really fit me in a flattering way, which is why I prefer the Defines, since they end at the waist. BUT I love Strides from a design perspective, regardless of whether they flatter me, personally. So, I am stoked to see them back on the “on the shelves” [online]. I would imagine that of the colors available right now, this Heathered Black one is probably the softest 🙂

Because I love them, and because I love seeing them back, I hope that more colors come out and that y’all get to enjoy these!

And, finally, I suppose, I’ll choose something I am not loving, if you are still here, reading…

I am not a fan of these “Ready to Run Tight Pinpoint” in Black and Magnet Grey. They also have a Midnight Navy/ Moroccan Blue color, that is slightly better, but I just don’t love these, which even I consider odd when I think about how much I really like the Wild Twist tights above, it even seems inconsistent. But… while the Twist Tights above have a twist, these have more of a “racing stripe” along the side. Perhaps, it is the look of the fabric, not necessarily the design that I don’t love.  Regardless, here they are:

What do y’all think? Let me know in the comments below!

Yes, they’re pretty.

Hello everyone!

I wanted to take some time to talk about some new favorites and some items I am simply not digging. Enjoy!

So happy that Lululemon has some surprises in store for the holiday season. Here’s a pretty:

Here’s another:

I was so happy to see the return of the Runderful Long Sleeve. This sold well last year, and the fitted design is both flattering and feminine.

I mentioned that I was interested in these in a previous post and wanted to show you them. These Wool Swiftlies are great. I bought one in Black Cherry and it was exactly what I was looking for: a slightly warmer Swiftly with the same look and a slightly more luxurious (soft) feel.

Here they are in all their glory: The Luminosity Line. Specifically, this color is called: Luminosity Foil Print Black Silver/Black. And, like the title of this post says: Yes, they’re pretty. Sometimes, I prefer to not buy into any hype- but I legitimately like these and it is likely that I will at LEAST own the Speed Up Shorts. Also shown: Speed Up Tights, Energy Bra, Run Times Shorts. I really love these!

Another thing I am completely enamored with:

Mix & Mesh Wunder Under

These are gorgeous. I hope to find them in my closet next to my other party pants, I mean Tech Mesh Wunder Unders.

Enjoying this pattern of Speed Up Tights:

I also wanted to pick a couple of things I did not like. These pants have a 29″ inseam. They’re designed to hit a little above the shoe-line area and, since these are Rulu, and probably decently warm, I don’t desire a warm pant that doesn’t cover my ankles completely. If these go on sale, I may consider them as an early Autumn pant, since Rulu is one of my favorite fabrics. UPDATE: I DID get these ON SALE marked down from $108 to $69! I tried them on and, I guess I am short enough that these DO cover my ankles!

The next thing is just over priced, in my opinion:

All That Shimmers Scarf
All That Shimmers Scarf

It IS made out of Merino Wool, so maybe it isn’t technically over-priced, given the quality and Lululemon brand-name, but I can’t justify $98 for a scarf that doesn’t absolutely “wow” me. This is cute, but… not $98 worth of “cute.” UPDATE: This did show up in WMTM on boxing day.

Finally, I don’t love this one. The cut would not flatter me, and I dislike the floral pattern on the arm, although, I do recognize that that is the primary  feature and namesake of this top. It is simply not made for me, and along with the Run Rulu Run pants, this top is on my WMTM prediction list. I do think that the scarf still has a chance to sell without a discount, we’ll see!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Holidays!

Lulu & Life Updates

Hello everyone!

Thanks for stopping by, and for continuing to do so- regardless of the fact that I haven’t been consistent with my writing. I love to write, and have started another few projects, so I’ve been focussing on those. I might even get the chance to share them here, so keep an eye out for that!

I have been working a lot lately, and putting in quite a few hours of overtime while I’m at it. However, the slow season is coming up and I am going on vacation soon!

I have not been following the uploads as much, but there have yet to be any bright colors, with the exception of the Fluorolace Multi print, which I do not care for. Hydrangea Blue is also nice, but it is a muted blue, not a bright or neon color, which is what I would like to see. I do recommend picking up a pair of the Tech Mesh tights if you do not already have them. They remain popular and they transition well from yoga to #YOLO. My local store calls them “Party Pants.” They certainly are. I have them in Submarine and Hero Blue.

I am interested in trying the Swiftly Wool Pullovers. I love Swiftlies, and would appreciate something a little warmer for winter jogs. The Stand Out Sherpa 1/2 Zip will go on sale later. If you don’t have any of the “Stress Less 1/2 zips,” I love the design, but the fabric of this year’s models is less soft than the previous year’s version. I would still say go ahead and get one if you are on the fence and don’t have one already. I also love those Extra Mile LS’s I spoke about in my last post.

Anyways, I did want to give a little “life update,” and say hello, since it has been a while. I hope that Lulu surprises us with a bright pink, like Paris or Raspberry Glo, but I am not optimistic. Thank you to the extra 1,000 people who came and visited my blog today to read my piece on LuLaRoe– that was unexpected! I appreciate all of my readers, thank you all for stopping by!

What I am LOVING Right Now

I am so happy that I finally get to do another one of these articles! It is no secret that I’ve been somewhat disappointed with most of Lululemon’s offerings this past little while. But TODAY, I am proud to report that I have found love again! Their last couple of uploads have added a few items that I absolutely love and I can’t wait to share my favorites with you today.

The first item that has “piqued” my interest is the Kitsilano Long Sleeve in Coco Pique:

Coco Pique is back, my friends. I am definitely excited. This version is slightly thinner, in my opinion, but perhaps that is item-dependent. So, maybe if we see some Wunder Unders they’ll be thicker. As a layering piece, I think it’s perfectly acceptable for the fabric to be a little lighter than the Coco Pique I am used to, especially since it felt equally luxuriously soft.

The next item I am excited about is the Rest Less 1/2 Zip. I have a couple of the Rest Less pullovers in my closet from last year, and I am happy to see that they’ve come up with a new iteration of an item I’ve enjoyed. Plus, the Black/White and Black/ Dark Cast colors are so cute! There is also a Black/ Armory, which is shown in the close up photo below, as you can see there is a green tone to it.  Not for me, but I love the other two! Note: They did not yet have this in my local store, so I haven’t tried it on- yet, looking forward to seeing it next time I stop in!

Next up! Shape Up Pullover. I think we were all waiting for the day we’d see Nulu in tops. I was so excited to try this on because the Nulu fabric is really the softest thing that Lulu offers these days- even more soft than Rulu, IMO. Although, I could be imagining that. Rulu IS really soft too. Bottom line: This item does not disappoint. The lines are fantastic. They give real shape to your figure. One thing that is difficult to see on the website is that there is a seam under the bust line. I think it adds to the shape of the garment, but it is difficult to see, given all the crossed arms in the photos online. There are thumbholes, and the hood is great too! This one’s a keeper!

The next item that I would like to share is The Extra Mile Long Sleeve. For me, for a long time, Lululemon always meant “going the extra mile” in terms of details. The thing that attracted me to the clothing was the innovation and the details. This item has details.

Thumbholes and Cuffins, Shoulder and Wrist rouche-style details, Reflective piping on the arms, small zip-up pocket. Perfect.

I also noticed that outerwear has popped up on the website. Last time I was in the store- two days ago- they had not yet received it. I will be trying whatever we get on in-store if/when it arrives. I have high hopes this season given what I’ve seen the last couple of uploads.

What do you think of the Fall rollout?

Let me know in the comments!

Lulu Has Missed The Mark This Spring

Hello everyone,

I saw this article, it was widely shared in my groups and across Facebook, and I just had to write about it. I feel like I’ve been talking about the general lack of color and boredom I’ve been feeling surrounding Lululemon’s offerings for months. This is actually one of the reasons I’ve been writing about other things, like LuLaRoe. Finally, VINDICATION! The market has acknowledged my feelings regarding Lululemon lately, and the CEO has acknowledged my, and countless other fans’ opinions. Does Laurent Potdevin read my blog? Is he in the Lululemon Facebook groups? Because I think we all could have told him that Lululemon needed to produce more colorful “Spring” items. And can Lululemon PLEASE bring back the feminine details, ruffles, ruching and personal touches? I miss the little messages inside pockets or under cuffins. And where have those cuffins been anyhow? Have thumbholes been nearly completely done away with? I know that I am not alone in having noticed that items have been degraded and renamed. The Cool Racerbacks have been renamed to Cool Racerback 2, shortened, narrowed, and had the fabric “innovated” (read: cheapened). I can see it now, “Swift Tech Long Sleeve Crew! Now without thumbholes, silverescent and underarm venting!” Sounds like a terrifying future for the Lululemon we all love. Except that that last one is true. Some of the new LS Swiftlies have no underarm venting- it’s only a matter of time before “cost-cutting measures” become more important than retaining brand value, quality and innovation. I worry that that time has already come for many in Lululemon Leadership.

The Lululemon We All Love

But for some, the love is gone. I know that many of us remember staying up late waiting for upload. We would hop on a group, and comment in threads our upload predictions and wish lists. Ah, nostalgia. We’d share our shopping carts and share in the excitement that in a few days, we could share try-on reports and tell people who were curious but not interested enough to hit the “add to cart” button how we felt about our purchases. Were we in love? Did we return? Is this a future unicorn? What’s the concensus?

That excitement is gone. I no longer even remember to check upload night until I am reminded by a Facebook post. I certainly don’t “wait up”- or even get excited. I used to still be somewhat interested in WMTM uploads on Thursdays, but I almost never check anymore, even for the sale prices. And, while we’re on the topic: $9 off a $68 item, is not a sale. In fact, can we stop pretending that raising the price of a LS Swiftly from $68 to $78, then putting it on sale for $69 is a generous discount? This just means that instead of paying $10 extra for an item, we only have to pay $1 extra.

On Quality

Careful vs. Careless

It used to be that gaffs and quality issues were rare. So rare, indeed were these quality issues that they became scandals, reported on the blogs, and on news outlets and gossiped about within the community. I have spoken about quality before, on quite a few occasions. I remember a time when nearly every item on Lululemon’s website had 4-star and above reviews. I remember a more careful Lululemon, where fabric choices, fit and function were fundamental considerations, instead of the afterthought. I remember when I didn’t have to check to make sure that an item wasn’t 90% Polyester. I am not even going to touch the sizing inconsistencies, but what about function? Where have all the functional pieces been? Too much Leisure, not enough Athlete.

My Opinion On a Future Advertising Campaign

Recently, Lululemon has expressed an intention to start a formal ad campaign, a step away from their current community marketing campaign. Here are my thoughts on that:

I used to ignore Lululemon. I felt like they advertised directly to me. Even though they didn’t have a formal ad campaign, to me, it was everywhere. That positive, aspirational brand spoke to me. So, I ignored it because I don’t like being “sold” things. Then one day, I went in the store. Everything was so bright and fun. And the sales people were happy and treated me like a human- instead of a customer. And the stuff was pricey, but the details were delightful. I fell in love with Pace Setters and Paris Pink. Less than a year later, I had started a small collection and my obsession with the brand grew from there.

My point is that Lululemon did not need formal advertising to gain me, or the market share it has today. It needs to continue to rely on the viral marketing campaign it has relied on from the beginning, which is why keeping its core fan base happy is so important. Lulu, if you want, go ahead, hire more ambassadors, and give more people R&D discounts for being walking billboards, but in all honesty, a formal advertising campaign will help you sell only slightly more than what you already sell. And at what cost? Starting a formal ad campaign might cause your brand to lose cache. Additionally, Lululemon is known for its irreverence. Lululemon’s core supporters never left over Brahmacharya, we moved on. We keep buying the clothes and we move on. Or how about this? Or this? Well, Lululemon can’t go around offending people during a massive ad campaign. Mass appeal will mean that Lululemon will have to adjust its target audience from Ocean and Duke to Jane and John. Lululemon will lose its edginess, in favor of commercial appeal. Will Lululemon remain an aspirational brand? Maybe. However, I am concerned that the massive campaign will alienate core supporters.

Lululemon is more popular among women than Nike. Last year, Nike spent $804 million on “demand creation,” which included advertising, brand events and digital marketing. Lululemon’s marketing budget is nowhere to be found, and marketing expenses are rolled into general administrative expenses in SEC filings, so there is no official number I could find for them. Please link down below if you find one! The point is, Lululemon spends no where near that much on ads. And is outperforming Nike in the women’s athletic apparel market. An ad campaign is unlikely to make a huge difference, and Lululemon should be cautious with how it spends investor dollars.

My final thought on this is: Do it if you want to. Do it if you think you’ll make more money than you’ll spend on the campaign. But don’t do it for old school, big-money investors who don’t understand the current marketing model (viral) that is the very thing that helped bring LULU to where it is now.

The Future of Lululemon

I think that someone needs to turn this company around and listen to the fans. This core group of influencers have been around for forever and have supported the brand through everything. This company has made some great moves this past year, like honoring “Dufflegate” and the Women’s Day discount. However, there has been plenty for people like me, true fans, to complain about. I think Lulu could get us to spend more, assuming they want to be a profitable company, if they returned to what made them popular. Some of their stuff doesn’t even look like Lululemon anymore. Lululemon is feminine, attractive, youthful and fit. Not boxy, drab, tired and frumpy. But that is what the designs evoke lately. Lululemon’s future depends on a triumphant return to what made them popular in the first place. Those fun designs, those functional, durable pieces that have a go-anywhere, do-anything attitude!

We Made Too Much Predictions

Hello everyone!

Hope your day is going super! I just wanted to take some time to talk about the most recent upload and recently uploaded items. This post is going to talk about my predictions for what will go on sale. Disclaimer: I am not clairvoyant. I can not actually tell you what will go on sale, some of the things I predict will go to WMTM will actually just end up in the outlets. Also, some may not end up on sale at all. In addition, these are just MY opinions. What I think will make it to WMTM is not even necessarily a reflection of the attractiveness of the item and I explain my reasoning for each below. So, if you like an item, go ahead and buy it! Who knows!? Maybe I am wrong and it will become a coveted Unicorn!

This is being written before Tuesday evening, which means that by the time you read this these items may not be the very most recently uploaded.

The first item that I predict will end up on markdown is the “Easy As” jacket. It comes in Dark Olive, Midnight Navy & Black. It’s made from Glyde fabric which is water repellent. At $168, for what is a very plain-looking jacket, in my opinion, it isn’t worth it. I will not be surprised when I see this on markdown.

The second item I predict will make it to the sale rack is the NTS Jacket. The fabric on these jackets actually feels nice, but to me, the shape is not as flattering as many of the other offerings that Lululemon has. This jacket also looks a little short on the models, although, they may be 5’10 or taller even, given the industry. To sum this jacket up: It looks boxy. It retails for $128. I think they can knock off $30, sell it for under $100, and still make a decent profit.

The next item in my WMTM prediction list is this Sole Training Short Sleeve *UV Protection. This, in my opinion, is actually a really pretty T-Shirt. However, I also think it is slightly overpriced. I will not be surprised to see it on sale for $15- $20 less than its current retail of $68.

The next WMTM prediction is the Smooth Stride bra. Many of Lululemon’s non-core collection bras end up on the sale rack, so I feel like this is a really safe prediction for at least a $10 savings. The Smooth Stride retails for $58. I am especially optimistic in terms of it ending up on sale for this bra in the Henna color (bottom of photo), and I also feel safe predicting that most other (if not all other items) in this Henna color will end up on the sale rack. My opinion is that it is too close to a flesh tone for many would-be buyers.

The final item I predict will end up in WMTM are the Reveal 7/8th Crops. These are pretty cute, actually, but the mesh, that is shown in the right-most photo looks large and therefore fragile, in my opinion. I can see it now, one day, I’m walking along in my Reveal crops, the next, something gets snagged on those large holes. Additionally, I feel that the mesh is overdone in these and by Lululemon lately in general. But for the mostpart these scream fragile to me, and I just can’t afford $118 tights that I’m afraid to wear.

What do you think will make it to WMTM? Let me know in the comments! Do you agree with my predictions? Disagree? I would love to hear from you!

May 17, 2017 UPDATE

I found the Easy As jacket on sale for $129

I found the NTS jacket on sale for $79

Also spotted the Smooth Stride bra for $34

Upload: Signs of Spring

Hello everyone!

I am actually pretty happy about the upload this week. I don’t love everything (the Glide and Stride line is mostly not my style), but I can see signs of life (Spring) in Lululemon’s color palette. And this pleases me.

First off, I did notice that the Define jacket I saw in the listing for the headband a week ago has been uploaded, so if you’re in need of a red Define jacket, there is one online now. I already have the Diamond Jacquard Berry Space Dye Define, so I likely will not get this one, but it is a pretty color. Also: it’s not black or some variation of black.

Now, on to other things.

I am a very big fan of the new Veridian Green items. All the Swiflies look fabulous in this color.

I also noticed a few items in the new Lip Gloss color

While I do like this color, it looks so similar to Boom Juice, I’m afraid to add any of it to my collection without seeing it in-store first. I hope I can do a color comparison for y’all!

I really like this new Smooth Stride tank. It’s made of Seriously Light Luxtreme. I don’t love the sea spray alpine white dark chrome color, but am liking the Veridian green. The black one is nice too, but… it’s black.

While I know that people are always excited to see new Align colors, doesn’t Blueberry Jam just look like a slighty brighter version of Midnight Navy? I know a lot of you out there would love to have both, but do you need both? Are these different enough to justify having both? Let me know what you think. I would probably choose Blueberry Jam. Which would you choose?

Finally, these new Wunder Unders caught my eye. I would LOVE to see them in person!

This color is called Heathered Deep Navy. It is gorgeous.

Did you like anything this time around? What do you think about the new colors? Let me know in the comments!

The Ultimate UNICORN Location Guide

cropped-lululemon-expert-2.png

Hello everyone! This is a post that I have been wanting to write for a while and I’m so happy that I’ve finally found the time to do so. I am really really excited about this post because I definitely want you all to be able to find your unicorns!

On Unicorns: My definition of a unicorn is that it is your unicorn. A unicorn in the traditional Lulu sense is that it is a highly sought after item that is difficult to find. When I use the term, that’s often what I mean, but I can also mean something that is special to you. Sometimes my unicorns are not really all that highly sought after, but they are rare. I hope that when I talk about unicorns in this post you understand that I mean all types of unicorns, whether they qualify in the traditional sense or not.

There’s a reason why my mascot is a Unicorn. (Isn’t she so cute!?) It’s because I LOVE Lululemon, and I LOVE all my unicorns. There have been a bunch of ways that I have captured my unicorns- at the right price- and I want you all to be able to use these strategies to catch your unicorns at the right price for you. Honestly, I can’t guarantee you’ll find Quiet Stripes for $50, or Tribal Wanderlust Wunder Unders for any type of reasonable price, but for unicorns that aren’t the top 0.01% of popularity, I think my strategies, plus a little patience, will pay off. PS: I already wrote a post on how to find the best deals on Lululemon. That’s about the best deals over all, this post is about how to find rarer items at a semi-reasonable price.

Here’s a pic of those Tribals, only [sarcasm] $480 right now on eBay.

Screen Shot 2017-02-03 at 10.48.11 PM.png

Let’s begin, the following are places where you can find your unicorn, along with sporadic advice on how to go about maximizing the possibility that you’ll find it!

The Boards

There are plenty of deals to be found on the Facebook Boards, but there are also lots of unicorns floating about. Here are some strategies I know to use these to your advantage.

ANY of the buy/ sell/ trade or auction groups.

There are sooooo many buy, sell, trade, and auction groups that it is hard to keep track. But browsing these groups might help you find your unicorn. Unfortunately, much of the time, your unicorn is also someone else’s unicorn, which might drive up the price. However, if you’re communicating directly with the seller, you might be able to convince them to give you a deal, especially if you’re buying more than one item from them. On auction pages, I’ve actually seen (and gotten) some great deals on my personal unicorns.

Some of the buy, sell, trade, and auction groups: The Unicorn Bidding Field, Lulu After Dark, Lululemon 911, Lululemon Amuurica, Lululemon Exchange, The Lululemon Market, Lululemon Bidding Battles

ISO Lululemon

For older Unicorns, I really like ISO Lululemon. I post a photo in the size album of my choice in the color that I want to find and wait. Sometimes waiting doesn’t work. So, I’ve also posted text-based ads in ISO Lululemon offering a small “finder’s fee” for anyone who knows where I can get the item. I’ve never found my item because of the finder’s fee, but my strategy is to make sure that people know that I’m ISO, or DISO, and that I’m a serious buyer. Sometimes, people have an item that you want, but they’re not going to sell it to you because they think it’ll be a hassle. I know that there have been times where I see an ad on ISO Lululemon that says “VERY VERY DISO!!! X-Item, preferably markdown price.” By putting a price condition in your ad, you’re giving people reasons to not message you. Maybe someone has your item, but they’re selling it for retail. If it’s really your unicorn, at the end of the day, wouldn’t you rather have the opportunity to negotiate on price with the seller, rather than have them see that you’re looking for the markdown price and just not even messaging you in the first place? My point is: Unless you are absolutely firm, and that even if a NWT version of your unicorn came to fruition you would not budge on price- you should not post a price suggestion in your ISO ad. If you’re putting a price condition in your ad, you’re giving people who don’t need your money a reason to not contact you even if they have your item. Many people who sell Lululemon are not doing it for the money. Although, there are flippers out there, and you can find my opinion on them here. A lot of the people uniting other people with their unicorns do it for the good of the community, and to build their own good Lulu karma.

Other things to consider: Please respect the rules of this group. If someone creates a post looking for what you’re looking for, don’t say that you’re looking for the same thing on her post. Please create your own post. If someone has the item, maybe the seller will follow the advice provided in the rules and message each potential buyer to ask for their best and final offer, thereby giving you an equal opportunity to “catch” your unicorn.

Follow the posting rules, no pics on the wall, be sure to specify size & color and make sure you don’t use stock photos. This group remembers when another Facebook group got shut down due to using Lululemon’s stock photos. I remember when this happened as well. It was not fun. But what IS FUN is getting your unicorn! The best part of this group is that you’re basically allowed to bump your post as often as you want! This improves visibility of your post- and shows potential sellers that you’re serious about capturing your unicorn. I recommend bumping your post once a day.

A few years back, the way that I found my item on ISO Lululemon was just that: posting my ISO ad, bumping it once a day for a few days and offering a finder’s fee to show that I was serious, and someone contacted me. They even told me that they weren’t planning to sell the item, but they could tell how much I wanted it. And I paid their reasonable (IMO) asking price. It was less than what the item was being sold for on eBay, and less than retail- so, to my mind, that is fair.

PS: If you don’t know what ISO or DISO means, check out my post about Lululemon Acronyms.

Lululand

Probably my favorite group right now. This group is FULL of AMAZING Angels and the Admins do a GREAT job! I’m updating my old “best deals on Lululemon” to include this group as well, but I have found more “recent” unicorns on here for fabulous prices. I’ve seen some really fantastic deals on Space Dye Wunder Unders, the special edition reflective print stuff from this past Black Friday has been on the board recently, the CRBs that were recently discontinued in favor of shorter length CRBs… just a myriad of great stuff at amazing prices. I can’t say enough great things about this group and the people in it.

Best use for Lululand: If you think you just missed out on your unicorn this is the group for you. Maybe your budget didn’t allow you to buy that week or you were really busy that week and didn’t realize you had your eye on such a hot item- and *bam!* by the time you finally get around to it, it’s sold out! Well, you may find have missed out that week, but if you stay vigilant, and turn on your notifications, maybe an angel will post your item after finding a deal either in-store or at an outlet. Don’t forget to tip your angels!

Lululemon Store Finds

This group has lovely ladies who tell you about great deals on marked down items in-store, and although no angeling is allowed, you can call the store and have them send it to you. Again, this group is best for people who have just missed out on their unicorns.

eBay

I don’t love eBay for finding unicorns. When it comes to unicorns, they are often over-priced. But there is one strategy that has worked for me and I will share that one. It is the same as one of the eBay strategies I shared on my old “best deals on Lulu” post. That is simply this: Set up alerts for the items you want. Following auctions might get you a deal on your desired unicorn, and it might not, but at least if you see the item early, you have a chance to “buy it now” before anyone places that first bid, thereby (possibly) nullifying the BIN option.

Poshmark & Mercari

Both apps are good for finding deals, but not so good for finding unicorns. I’ve seen it so many times: someone posts a GREAT deal on a unicorn, notices that there is a TON of interest, deletes the listing and reposts at a higher price. Not fun. But, I figured I’d mention them because of those good deals, who knows, maybe your unicorn is on there after all!

Local Finds and Consignment Shops

You might be able to find your unicorn on Craigslist or Kijiji, but beware that the seller might be getting a lot of messages from people who also want her item. Consignment shops can be great for finding deals, but are a gamble on whether or not you’ll find a unicorn. It’s always fun to go take a look though, amiright?

Final Thoughts:

The best place, hands down, to find your unicorn for a moderately reasonable price is the Facebook boards & groups. The ladies on the boards are really helpful and courteous. There is a ton of goodwill built up in the community and people are always willing to go out of their way for each other. It’s really wonderful to see. These are the people that will angel your unicorn to you, tell you/ tag you in the post if they see your unicorn for sale somewhere, and help you find your unicorn any way they can! I hope that this post has been helpful.

Aside: I think it’s funny sometimes how “into” writing I get then 5 hours later, I’m like, “oh! it’s 2am.” Thanks, as always for reading. I really do appreciate you taking the time. Let me know how you find your unicorns in the comments!

*There are a ton of links in this post- if any are broken, or not working for you, please let me know in the comments and I’ll fix them!

A couple of Lulu try-ons + fit reviews

Hey everyone!

I noticed all the new stuff Lulu has put out recently and decided to pop into my local store for a quick peek! I noticed the Pow Pink is back in-store, and if you didn’t get them last time, or you’re looking to perk up your Speed Short collection, you might want to grab a pair in Pow Pink! Caveat: be careful when washing, Lulu has had issues in the past with bleeding inks :-/

They also had a few other adorable items in-store that I wanted to give a try:

The tank I’m wearing is called the “On Track tank.” It reminds me very much of the “Back on Track” tank, without the Silverescent woven in. I did pick this up, since I was a huge fan of the Back on Track tanks. If you’re like me, and maybe sometimes straps do not always flatter your arms, I did not find that this tank dug in at all, and in fact, I found it quite comfortable. In addition, as the hang tag states below, it is meant to provide medium support to A/B cups, and in fact, I think that C cups may also find that it provides adequate support. Fabric-wise: the bra part is mostly Nylon and the tank part is half Nylon, half Polyester. Color: Heathered Aurora/ Aurora.

These High Times in Score Jacquard Black Indian Ocean. They do look nice, I like the look of the fabric, but there is something about the feel… It’s sort of bumpy. I wish I could adequately describe it. I don’t love the feel of the fabric, so these were left behind. Also: I have found myself really enjoying (and purchasing) green tones lately, so I didn’t feel the need to add these to my collection. They were true to size, maybe even on the loose side, in my opinion.

Here is a close up of the fabric so you can see what I mean:

Here are the hang tangs for each of the items described above:

Have you tried these? What do you think about the fabric of the High Times? Let me know in the comments!

New Lulu Try-ons!

Hello everyone! I thought it would be fun to do a try-on report for y’all, so I headed in and tried on a few adorable items that I want to talk to y’all about!

First off: I am absolutely in LOVE with the new pattern! It’s called Strive Multi Black!

I went in and tried on the Speed Tights. I think these are true to size and they passed the bend-test. They are not see-thru. However, they are lined with white, so that’s something to keep in mind, since some sheering out of the pattern may occur as the fabric stretches. Overall, I liked them and found them comfortable. I am going to wait to see if my store gets the Pace Rivals, since I really want this pattern in a crop! Crops get more use than pants in my collection since I live in the South and it gets mighty warm down here!

I also tried on the new Fast Lane bra in this print, and liked, but did not love it. It’s supportive, and lined with black, but it just didn’t wow me. I might pick it up on WMTM, if it makes it there.

I also tried on these Wunder Under Pant (Hi-Rise) in Dazzle Wunder Under 50g Alpine White Black. I liked the feel. Soft without feeling too slick. These definitely have the “second skin” feel to them. If you’re familiar with Teeki’s hot pants, apparently you’ll feel right at home in these, according to a couple of reviewers online. Although I didn’t feel like the waistband might roll, some reviewers expressed that their waistband did roll, so definitely lookout for that if you’re thinking about buying these.

Then, I tried on these Wunder Unders in Midnight Tulle Multi. These are gorgeous! I really like the fabric and fit, and I almost left with them, but I decided to wait. I am not happy with how quickly things seem to be moving to WMTM lately, but if these make it there soon, then I will be happy to get a deal on them. Full size run still on Lululemon.com

If you do shop at Lululemon online, as I’m sure many of you do: Don’t forget to use ebates! It’s a website that gives you cash back just for shopping online. I installed the browser button so I can make sure I’m getting cash back every time. Use my referral link if you don’t have ebates yet & get $10 after your first purchase.

What do you think about the new prints? Let me know in the comments below!
