I’m SO excited about some of Britt’s picks coming up. I can’t wait to try the Race Your Pace 1/2 Zip in-store & I think I need that Bumble Berry Dance Studio Jacket.
I really loved the Race With Grace pullovers- Sincerely one of Lulu’s best Luxtreme pullover’s in the last little while. I am hoping that this Rulu pullover is just as good, so it can serve as a great winter-run top. I am in the market for a white long sleeve top to wear under vests and sleeveless dresses this winter, so I did go in to try on the Run For Gold 1/2 Zip. I thought the reflective details were really cute, and the mesh was well-placed, but I didn’t find the fit to be particularly flattering, so I had to leave it behind. I think it’s partially my preference for the regular Luxtreme, over the “Light Luxtreme” that the Run For Gold is made from.
As for the Bumble Berry Dance Studio Jacket- I just really love the DSJs. I only have a couple, but they’re absolutely perfect for fall.
I also tried on the new Bhakti Yoga jackets. They were beautiful last year, but they’re nicer this year, in my opinion. The Luon in the Heathered Deep Coal one is especially soft. I loved it. I almost took it home, but they didn’t have my size 🙁
I’m so happy Lululemon came out with a new red. Bumble Berry is so pretty & Lulu hasn’t come out with a good new red in forever! Currant was nice & I really liked Love Red, but there haven’t been as many reds coming out as I would like. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
I hope that Lulu keeps coming out with more reds! I will post back once I try on the 1/2 Zip & the DSJ.
As you’ll recall, (or maybe you won’t 😉 LOL!) I wrote about the Fast Track shorts in my Last Post of Last Year, and I loved them. I know that they didn’t get a lot of love, and they even went to Mark Down last year, but I really liked them. I paid full price for one pair and got another pair on sale. I loved them but most people complained that they a) rode up and b) they were too compressive and pretty much everyone (including myself) had to size up. So far this year, people are saying that they stayed true to size and that they don’t ride up, so perhaps they’ve re-worked the design, as this time around we’re purchasing Fast Track Shorts “2.” I know all the “Camo” ones sold out, but I knew that would happen. I don’t much care for Camo- but I’m going to wait & see if the other ones go one sale so I can grab another pair. If some of the other colour’s sizes sell out- I’ll bite the bullet and pay full price. But if I can save 30%, why not wait it out. It’s still freezing where I am, so it’s not like I’ll get to enjoy then any time soon. If (or rather when) I do buy another pair, I’ll post an update & do an comparison review between this year’s and last year’s model.
Officially caved! I was hoping to wait for these to go to markdown, but I just ordered this pair… I was going to wait for the sale, but size 4 sold out, they’re actually getting good reviews this time, and there are only two colors, and one is black. So, I figured I’d better jump on these before my size is sold out in them as well, because I won’t buy plain black ones. It’s only been a couple of weeks since these were released but the weather is finally starting to warm up & I might be able to use these babies sooner than I thought! I’ll update with a fit review once they arrive!
UPDATE: I got them in & I prefer this year’s version to last year’s version and am wishing they made them in more colors! The fit is exactly the same and I still feel like these are a “bra” for my butt. The only difference is last year’s version had a 4-inch inseam, and this year’s version have a 5-inch inseam. This change made them even more awesome somehow!
UPDATE: UPLOAD!!! (April 14, 2014) My wish came true! They came out with another colour in the Fast Track shorts this upload!
Hello! I know that every new product seems to be my fave lately, but I absolutely love my new 105 F Singlet! I think they’re going to be perfect for summer. I got a few for myself recently & I hope they come out with even more colors! I love that they’re made of Seriously Light Luon, that they have Silverescent in them & the scalloped edge is a really nice detail. I think all hot yoga tops should be made with Silverescent, it gets stinky in hot yoga. The only thing I don’t love is the price, they’re $52 when they should be $40-ish. But they’re selling out online in the more popular sizes, so the only ones making it to markdown are size 10s. I do suggest sizing down, in terms of fit- they’re very loose. I like them that way, so I stayed TTS. I also love how they cover my bum, so that I can feel comfortable wearing them with Wunder Unders over a CRB. They’re really soft and feminine. I can’t wait to buy more!
Which 105 Singlets are in your collection? Do you like them as much as I do? Why or why not?
First off, I must say that Lululemon has really outdone themselves. This is quite possibly the best pullover they have ever made, from a features point of view. I’m going to start at the top & go down.
First in front we have a zipper garage, pretty standard, but the zipper is dual and runs both ways. I don’t exactly know when I would use this feature, but it’s available. Then, mesh venting begins under the arms. In the back, there is also mesh venting located underneath the openings at the shoulder blades. Around the elbows begins the first half of the 4-way reflectivity. It’s hard to see in the photos, but trust me, it’s there & expertly concealed. At the waist we have a kangaroo pocket with a media management system and at the back, the last half of the 360 degrees of reflectivity plus really cute rushing details. Finally, the thumbholes and cuffins on the sleeves round out this fantastic running long sleeve. I will also mention that this is made from Brushed Luxtreme, and I would wear it in 12-20 degree celcius or mid 50s- late 60s degree fahrenheit weather. Those are approximations, but what I mean is I would wear this for cool, but not absolutely frigid weather, jogging.
Fit: I found this to be a fitted true to size. While it is fitted throughout, I managed to wear it today layered over a CRB, but under a Scuba hoodie. (Don’t know what a CRB is? Check out my post on Lululemon Slang!) I didn’t find it tight in the shoulders, too short or too long. For reference, I’m 5’6.
I hope you snag one of these, there are still full size runs online, as of today.
Update: Some of these made it to Markdown! A full size run of the black, and some of the Fresh Teal ones as well. So I snagged a black one. They were marked down to $69 from a retail cost of $98.
I am so happy to see that the Track Tee made it to North America. I featured it earlier, when Australia got it & it has finally arrived! I have yet to see it in-store, but will add a fit review to this post if I see it. I am having a very hard time swallowing the price. $68 seems pretty high for a t-shirt made from *Seriously Light* Luon. Even though I’m 100% sure the Track Tee in Heathered Baroque Blue will look awesome with my new Bhakti Yoga Shorts, from my last post, I am also quite sure it will go to markdown. I just can’t see too many people paying $68 for a Track Tee, when they can pay $58 for a Swiftly Short Sleeve. Just my opinion. But, for those who are interested in getting one now, they come in black, heathered medium grey/ white, Fresh Teal & Baroque Blue.
I’m also happy to see the Bandit Track pants uploaded. I saw them in-store a couple of days ago, and I tried them on. They fit very similarly to my Work It Out Track Pants from last year. I found them to be a somewhat looser, true to size, but the pockets on the side stick out, just a little. It’s hard to tell on the website that the pockets stick out on the sides a little because in every picture the models have their hands in the pockets. I got the Work It Out track pants on markdown for $49. I think I’ll wait to see if these go on markdown & get them then, as well.
Finally, an item I am willing to buy at full price:
The Inspire Crop, specifically these:
I haven’t seen these in-store yet, but there’s still a full size-run online, so there’s no hurry for me to rush out & buy them.
What Lulu are you most excited for this New Year? Or does nothing intrigue you? Let me know in the comments below!
Hello again! I’m happy to report that my friends and family know me well enough to know that I love Lululemon & that they can’t go wrong with a pair of Wunder Unders or a No Limits tank. So, I wanted to share my holiday haul with y’all!
Santa was very generous this year- although the bottom three items were purchased by me, yesterday. In my haul: Angel Blue & Paris Perfection LS Swiftlies, Ziggy Wee Plum September & Pretty Pink Slalom Stripe Flow Y Bras, Pretty Pink Slalom Stripe Pacesetter skirt, Plum Speed Tights, Scuba Hoodie *Vest, Scuba Hoodie in Pop Petal print, Scuba Hoodie in Parallel Stripe, Wunder Under Crops in Parallel Stripe, 105 F singlet in heathered Lavender Dusk, Bhakti Short in Baroque Blue, No Limits tank in Plum & Surge/ Inkwell
What did you get for Christmas?
I also wanted to include a fit review for the shorts.
Fun Fact: A very basic definition of Bhakti is that Bhakti is a Sanskrit term that signifies an attitude of devotion to a personal God.
I bought these for summer and for vacations to hot places. I don’t practice hot yoga often enough to justify buying these shorts, but I do get hot easily. These shorts are made of *Seriously Light Luon and they certainly are light. I love that they have a liner to make me feel secure (I won’t ‘fall out’ of them, so to speak), but the main body of the short is light enough that I could wear it in the hottest summer weather and I would have a higher level of comfort than can be obtained even by the ever-popular Speed shorts. The inseam on these is 2’3/8, while the speed short is 2’1/2, so these are actually one eighth of an inch shorter than the Speeds. I found them to be true to size and I can’t wait to wear them this summer.
I did not buy, but did try on the new Bhakti jacket and loved it, but I can’t justify another jacket right now. I found it to be fitted and think some people may want to size up, for comfort.
Did you like the Bhakti shorts & jacket? Let me know in the comments below!
Hello! I wanted to share with y’all some current favorites of mine, and I think that most, if not all are still available in-store, if not also online. I think that this will be a running segment. I am currently loving the Deep Zinfandel Rose Herringbone Print Scuba hoodie. It is the same print as last year’s rose herringbone, but it’s not Alberta Lake (a green-black color). I didn’t love the Alberta Lake color and I only bought the Herringbone Wunder Unders in Alberta because, well, they’re Wunder Unders and I love them. So I am much more excited about this year’s Rose Herringbone print in Deep Zinfandel.
I ordered this on Monday, and as of this writing it is still available online in all sizes here. I also love the Raspberry Wunder Unders *RVRS, but I can’t do bright bottoms.
These are also still available, as of this writing here.
These can be found here. Thanks for window shopping with me again! What are your favorites right now? What have you bought lately? UPDATE! Got my new Deep Zinfandel
Scuba (pictured above) in the mail & it is the softest Scuba hoodie I’ve ever owned. I wore it today!
I’m a head band addict. I wear one every single day. They’re great for hiding extension micro-rings or other connection spots (like clips or where it glues on), or if you have “baby hairs” in the front from straightening or otherwise damaging your hair, they’re great at hiding those flaws too! But they’re not just great for hiding flaws, I appreciate how well they keep my bangs back during exercise, and they have a stretchy part in the back, so they fit my head well. They never slip. I own quite a few “Slipless” head bands, and even they slip sometimes. I like the the little metal logo in the back too. It’s discrete, yet the quality is there, since it is metal.
Essentially, these are the perfect headband. They are currently made “reversible” and cost $18. They used to be $14 and have circle mesh on the reverse side. I like the circle mesh, but I think I prefer the reversible ones. The only time I don’t like the reversible ones is when they are “reversible” to the same color. My Spry Blue one (6th from the left) is “reversible” to Spry Blue.
From Left to Right: Plum, Raspberry Glo Hyperstripe/ Plum; Inkwell Paisley/ Inkwell; Raspberry Glo/ Black; Ziggy Wee Angel Wing/ White; Raspberry Glo Groovy Stripe/ White; Spry Blue/ Spry Blue, Beaming Blue Laceoflage; Spring Has Sprung; Pink Shell; Beach Blanket Blue/ Aquamarine; Hyperstripe Blue Moon; Blue Moon. Finally, at the bottom is Pinkelcious/ Pinkelicious Fangipani
Another pic, just because.
Since this blog is primarily about buying & selling Lulu, I will mention that most of the headbands retain their value well. You can usually get back what you paid, particularly with Bang Busters & other popular models of headbands, like the Slipless. I see Bang Busters mostly selling for around retail, maybe a little less, on eBay. I don’t know if it’s a perceived value thing, or if it’s just such a small item that people don’t think twice about spending $20. I’ve only ever seen Blurred Blossom Bang Busters sell for well above retail in the after market.
I suggest buying these in-store or online at full price. I’ve never seen them on Mark Down, or heard about them making it to the outlets. If you’ve seen them at the outlets, please correct me. They usually sell out online after a few days, once they’ve been uploaded (depending on the colorway), from what I can tell. They are pretty amazing, if you get a chance, you should try them out!
UPDATE: 29th of June, 2014
So, it’s been about 9 months and I STILL LOVE this headband. They’re still the only ones I buy and I wear them constantly. I just wanted to give an update, since it has been a while. I have only seen these on markdown once since writing this post. So, I still think it’s a good idea to buy them full price if you want them. However, since I last wrote, I think Lululemon has recognized their popularity, so most of the time if you don’t buy them on upload night, you can wait a few days (or even weeks!) if you want to or need to before getting them. Whereas before they would sell out in one night, I often see them available for two weeks or more. So, I’m glad Lululemon has increased production based on demand.
I also thought it would be fun to do a collection update photo!
From Left to Right: Not So Petit Fleur/ Antidote, Deep Zinfandel/ Bleached Coral, Pretty Pink Salom Stripe/ Pretty Pink, Brisk Bloom Black White/ Black, Paris Perfection, Pop Petal Multi, Assorted Stripe Surge/Surge, Heathered Lavender Dusk/ White, Wamo Camo Barely Pink / Slate,
And here they are all together!
I really love this photo for two reasons. First of all: Look at all those awesome Bang Busters! Nearly a 5-Star rating on Lululemon.com and over 150 reviews! And Second: I think this is a great way to compare some of these colors! See how similar Raspberry Glo is to Paris Perfection!?
What do you think!? Love ’em or hate ’em I’d be happy to know your opinion!
Every so often, Lululemon releases a fabric print called “Ziggy Wee.” I completely missed out last time, somehow. So this year, I feel like I must have some form of all Ziggy in my closet. So far, I believe I’ve managed to grab something in every Ziggy color. Here’s a photo I took of my Ziggy family.
Since this blog is primarily about selling Lululemon, I have found that the Ziggy print holds its value quite well, and the most popular item to be released in this print in my opinion was the XL (Extra Long) CRB, I never see one sell for less than $50 on eBay. I think that’s pretty good, since they retailed for $48. One of the many reasons I love Lululemon is that it seems you almost always get your money back when you invest. I’ve never seen the Ziggy Wee Caspian Wunder Unders for sale anywhere, but I have seen the Ziggy Wee Flare (released in the same time period, July/Aug 2012) sell for between $70 and up to $130 (for NWTs). My favorite thing about the Ziggy print is the feel of the fabric. It gorgeous, and particularly remarkable in the CRBs. I say that because if you own Herringbone or Pique WUs, the fabric of the Ziggy’s is less impressive than that. Especially those Piques… I could live in those.
Anyways, Here’s one more picture, closer-up, with slightly different lighting.
I talk a lot about Lululemon, buying, selling and best practices. But my real passion for the brand is based on the products it has been producing over the years and I want to take a minute to have some fun and talk about things I love right now.
Today, I’m only going to talk about things that are STILL available on the website, so if you like them too- you can have one of your very own!
I am absolutely loving this Scuba Hoodie. It is called a Scuba Hoodie *Stretch (Lined Hood) in Inkwell/ We Are From Space Printed October Inkwell. I don’t buy very many Scuba hoodies, partially because I already own 6 of them, and partially because I do find $108 expensive for a hoodie, but if they come out with one that has this pattern throughout, and not just on the sleeves, I will probably buy it.
These are so fun, but still classy, in my opinion. Recently, Lululemon released Raspberry Glo/ Plum Ziggy Wunder Under Crops, but the print, with that color scheme is far too ostentatious for my taste. I am glad I held out for these. The basic plum is more subdued, allowing me to rock one of my favorite patterns, without screaming for attention. For reference, the exact name of the ones pictured is: Wunder Under Pant *Textured in Ziggy Wee September Plum.
For me, this was a must have. This is a Salom Stripe Angel Wing CRB. CRBs are a staple wardrobe item and this one is too cute to pass up! (Don’t know what a CRB is? Check out my previous post on the slang and terms Lululemon fans use most often!)
Well, that’s all for now- Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think about my selections in the comments below!
UPDATE: I ended up returning the Salom Stripe CRB & Exchanging it for a CRB in Ziggy Wee October Angel Wing because the Salom Stripe was somewhat sheer and was too ‘polyestery’ in my opinion. Of Course, according to the tag, it was 85% Polyester, while the Ziggy Wee October Angel Wing one was 85% Nylon, so i guess I prefer Nylon. One is not necessarily better than the other, but the Ziggy Wee was definitely softer to the touch than the Salom Stripe. The Ziggy Wee October Angel Wing CRB is pictured below.
