2016 In Review and My Favorites

Hello everyone!

As far as Lululemon goes, this year has been pretty ‘miss’ for me, with a few hits in between. I really feel like I’ve been more difficult to impress, and that their offerings for most of the year have been rather lackluster. One thing I especially missed are the Herringbone and Pique prints. They used to bring those every year, but not this year… I wonder why they’re missing!?

I usually do a top 5, but this year, I just want to give a shout out to some of the good things.

Ready To Rulu Pants

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE these pants, I’ve mentioned them before– they are amazing for running errands, going to class, mulling about the house, etc… Comfy Rulu (with the exception of the Spray Jacquard ones whose fabric is really not up to par), a zipper pocket big enough for your phone and cousins of my other favorites: the Base Runners. These are an improvement on that design and I will enjoy each of the pairs that I own.

Wild & Free Tights

So much fun, these tights have mesh on the side and a large pocket too! I just think they’re pretty in the Deepest Magenta color I got them in.

“Fall New White/ Black” not a huge fan of this color, but love these tights!

New Website with the “closet” tab
I actually like the new website, which I don’t think is in line with the thinking of a lot of other people. I like the colors of the layout, although I must admit- I am not a fan of all the clicking and scrolling that’s necessary to view products. However, I am someone who likes change, so maybe that’s why I like it- or it could be the “closet” tab, where you can see all your past purchases. In any case, Lululemon definitely spent way too much time & effort on their website, and not enough on giving us the feminine details on our clothes that we’ve come to expect and even took away a method of communication we were able to have with them by shutting down HeyLululemon.com. I still miss HeyLululemon.com. The community got together there and brought their best  ideas and it gave Lululemon the opportunity to respond to questions and concerns openly.
Real Quick Crops
I talked about these in this post, so I won’t go on and on about fit, but these are just wonderful. Plus they reminded me of my Run For Your Life crops. Among others, these came in these two gorgeous, almost regal colors: Deep Green and Deep Zinfandel. Both of which found their way into my collection. Definitely a fave from this year.
Vent It Out Crops
Sure, these are cute crops, but honestly it’s this color that did it for me. I wore these all summer long.

APRIL

April. Just April. That whole month had such vibrancy and color. I loved the new Sculpt tanks, the Seven Wonders print, Blurry Belle, Pretty Prism, some Foli Manifesto stuff, I know lots of people liked the True Self crops, Space Dye Camo Alberta Lake Fresh Teal, Rio Nights, a splash of Bali Breeze, Pure Practice Pants, Wave Twist Lilac Caspian, some Jungle Green items, the Making Moves line, some Speed Track shorts in compelling & bright colors (Rio Nights and Deep Zinfandel), Align Crops (not my cup of tea, but some were anxious to have them), Var City Crops (ditto tea comment), a re-stock of the popular If You’re Luck LS’ from the previous year, colorful Define Jackets- And that is not even everything. I didn’t mention a bunch of new tank styles and the pretty rose printed Swiftly that came out in April (well now I did), but as you can plainly see, April was easily the best Lulu month of 2016. It wasn’t 100% perfect (I was not a fan of the Sit In Silence scarf), but there were so many high points.

Hope for the New Year

Well, I hope Lululemon takes our community’s advice and start reincorporating those feminine details into its offerings. What was your favorite item or items this year? Flops?

Graduated & the Future

Hello Hello everyone!

After an intense semester consisting of a bevy of (6!)classes, including two graduate level, and an internship that took some time as well, but that I absolutely loved- I’m finally ready to start writing on a regular basis again. I have actually considered starting a new website to talk about what I’m going to be doing with my time since I have completed my undergraduate education, but I’ve decided that I’ll keep the posts on here, but be sure to title and tag them appropriately. That way, if you’re not interested in my new hobbies, or with what I’m up to after college you can only open those posts that are about Lululemon or what interests you.

In addition to job-searching/ applying/ interviewing, I will be exploring some new hobbies, and, in addition to reestablishing my posts about Lululemon, I hope to share my new hobbies with you, specifically planning and my opinion on Cardio Barre.

I tried Pure Barre a couple of years ago, and I didn’t *love* it, so for Christmas I asked my husband for class passes to Cardio Barre, which is a different class with the same idea of incorporating a bar. I know one of the instructors at my local studio, and a friend of mine also works out there, so I think it will be fun and easy to get started there. I’ve done a couple of classes there, but that was about 3 years ago- from what I remember, I did enjoy it, but I will share what I think with y’all on here after I take more than just two classes! I will likely do a “comparison between Cardio Barre and Pure Barre” post as well.

One other thing I’ve recently discovered is the planning community. I am excited to share my planning spreads with you. For some reason I have a strong feeling that people who love Lululemon are also in the planning community. Let me know in the comments if this describes you.

Anyways, I am excited to come back to my blog- I have missed writing so so much and I have so many ideas for what I want to write about! In fact… I’m going to get to work on those right now!

The First Mile Jacket

This is the best jacket- hands down- that I think Lululemon has come out with in the last 5 years. Does this jacket remind anyone else of the Fluff Off jacket of 2013? Functionally, in addition to cuffins- to keep your hands toasty warm, there are reflective details along the arms- strategically placed for visibility. The Rulu fabric along the sides and back help create and attractive, feminine silhouette. I live in the South, so I think that this jacket could keep me warm all Winter long!

I think this jacket will be on some people’s Christmas wish lists this year.

*Of note: Some reviewers said that this jacket zips up tight in the neck area, and is tight in the shoulders. Others said it was a roomy TTS for layering. That was my impression as well. I found it to be a roomy TTS. Probably best to try it on for size if you can. Don’t worry though, extended return season is upon us. If you purchase items, at full price (no WMTM) you may return them until January 8th, due to the holiday return policy.

Also: There is no down in this jacket. It has fleece and Primaloft to keep you warm.

What do you think? Have you purchased the First Mile jacket? Waiting for it to hit WMTM? Let me know in the comment section!

Vinyasa Scarves: My collection

Hello everyone!

Today I want to talk about my favorite Lululemon scarves: Vinyasas! I actually don’t own any other Lululemon scarves other than Vinyasas. I used to. I definitely sold them. I just wear a Vinyasa almost every single day in the fall and winter. They are amazing.

Again, since this blog is a lot about selling Lululemon I will mention that Vinyasa scarves do tend to hold their value fairly well.

These are my favorite scarves for a few reasons, the main one being that they are made of Rulu- which is luxuriously soft and cozy! But they’re also good at keeping my neck warm and they make a great shawl too! I love bringing one of these with me on the plane. Plus they come in a variety of pretty colors.

Here is my collection!

Left to right, top to bottom. (Worth noting: Some are folded sideways since there are two different colors on each side, and two of them are Ivivva Chili scarves.)

Heathered Fossil, Heathered Bordeaux Drama Bumbleberry (side a) & Heathered Bordeaux Drama (side b)- beneath, Herringbone, Wee Stripe Winter Orchid (side a) & Deep Zinfandel (side b)- right beside, Coco Pique White/ Black, Mini Check Pique Ultra Violet Heather Black,  Ivivva: Space Dye Ultramarine Rosebud Pow Pink, Mini Check Pique Caspian Blue Heathered Inkwell, (Bumbleberry as mentioned above), Mini Check Pique Aquamarine Heathered Peacock Blue, Wee Stripe Lilac Heathered Coal, Pretty Pink Slalom Stripe, Hyper Stripe Black (side a) / Black (side b), Mini Check Pique Beaming Blue Polar Cream, Parallel Stripe Pigment Blue Heathered Black, Butter Pink Heathered Bordeaux Drama, Ivivva: Heather Pigment Blue & Toothpaste Herringbone.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading!

New: Wild & Free Tight

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to take a moment to talk to y’all today about these:

These are the new “Wild & Free” tights! The color featured here is fall net white black/black. I really like these for early Fall, when it’s still warm-ish in the South.

I think these in the color Deepest Magenta are the prettiest! I hope they continue producing items in Bordeaux Drama though! That’s my favorite Fall color.

What do y’all think? Do you like these? What about the color? Let me know in the comments below!

NEW: Ready to Rulu Pants

Hello everyone,

My, my, my, has it been a while! I constantly miss writing for fun. The good news is that I was able to keep my internship, the bad news is I don’t have much free time at all. I am taking 6 classes, two of which are grad level all while working and participating in extracurriculars. This semester I’ve pared down the extracurriculars though and am only doing TISL and Leadership training offered through my school. In any case, I am busy and I miss writing. So, here I am. Inspired by Lululemon’s new Fall offerings (again.) I do love their Fall collection and it consistently helps me open my wallet.

My newest favorite is their “Ready to Rulu” pant. I HAD to have these once I tried them on in-store. They absolutely are the “New & Improved” Winter Rulu, Base-runner relative pant. I think they’re cousins or something.

I got the heathered navy blue. They are soft, just like the Base Runners. Roomy too. They are warm and cozy, just like the Base Runners. We will have to “wait and see” if these experience the same waistband rolling issues that some Base Runners had, but I feel that the pockets don’t pucker like they do (slightly) with the Base Runners. Part of the reason for the lack of puckering is that one of the pockets is zippered. I wish that they had put zippers on both sides, instead of just the right-hand pocket, but I think that adding a zippered pocket is a move in the right direction for sure.

I thought these were a roomy TTS, and did I mention how comfy they are?

OCTOBER 2019 UPDATE!

Lululemon is selling these again this Fall. So far, I only see black online, but I am hoping for other colors soon, since I already own black. I will buy these again and again. They’ve lasted through 3 winters so far, no excessive pilling and I wear them all the time! So soft, so versatile.

Did you get these? Let me know what you think in the comments!

My Summer So Far…

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to give an update, since it’s been a while. First off: HAPPY CANADA & AMERICA DAY WEEKEND to all my American and Canadian friends 🙂 Even though I live in America-land now, Canada is still in my heart. I got done last semester mid-May, and by the end of May I had started my internship. I’m so happy that I actually got an internship- there are fewer available than there are candidates who seek them, mostly because many employers don’t really want to invest in short term employees. The amount of facetime I have with my mentors at my organization is definitely an investment on their part in my learning. I also hope to be kept on for the Fall semester, part time. I’m so happy that I received this position, specifically, because it’s in my field: International Development.

This is the main reason I haven’t written. I spend much of my time and energy on this job, and in addition, I am enrolled in 4 classes online. Thankfully, one was only one month long. Although it required a lot of investment, I’m happy I’ve completed it successfully (getting an ‘A’), and I will remain enrolled in the other three classes for the remainder of the semester- which is about 4 more weeks. I have the long weekend to complete many of the requirements for my other classes, in some of which I have the opportunity to work ahead.

Anyways, I just wanted to let y’all know why I haven’t been around. I miss writing- a lot. But my internship, and classes, are taking priority at the moment. I’m hoping to write something between now and the 7th (first day back at work after vacation). I’ve had this idea for a post about Vinyasa scarves on the back burner  for a while.

Thanks for reading, y’all! I hope to talk to you soon!

RSYB- The Return thereof + My Collection

Hello everyone!

I hope y’all are having a GREAT weekend! I just wanted to take a moment to discuss my FAVORITE Lululemon Bra: the RUN: Stuff Your Bra. I absolutely love these. They’re great for ladies who need a little extra support, and the wide straps make it a very comfortable selection.

Here are the features as listed on the website:

Wide, Smooth straps provide comfort and support

Breathability: Open back provides ventilation

Medium Support: Intended to provide medium support for a B/C cup

Yes to those straps providing comfort and support. And I agree that this bra is best for a B/C cup- it is definitely medium support. If you need more, I’d go for a Ta Ta Tamer. I think the claim of “breathability” is a little over-stated, though, considering that almost all their bras could be said to have breathability in my opinion.

I was actually worried that they weren’t going to bring it back, and there were several threads, as I recall, on HeyLululemon.com asking for a re-release in America, before they closed that website down. I’m glad that they did choose to bring it back, it’s definitely a fan fave!

Anyways, I thought it would be fun to share a collection photo, so here they are, my RSYBs:

OH! I almost forgot! I’m currently holding a giveaway! It ends June 1st, 2016. While you’re here, you might as well check it out 🙂 You could win a $100 Lululemon Gift Card!

MY FIRST EVER GIVEAWAY

****THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED**** JUN 1/2016

*Updated below!*

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been blogging for over three years now, and I just want to say how thankful I am for all of you who read my blog, and for the ALWAYS positive or useful and constructive feedback I receive. I love it when you point something out that you like, and I love when you correct me when I’ve made a mistake. In the interest of building on that feedback, and hopefully getting even more of it, I’ve decided to hold a giveaway.

TL;DR: Here’s the link for the giveaway:

Enter HERE to win a $100 Lululemon Gift Card!!!

The rules are simple, I’m holding it through Rafflecopter, which is pretty much the gold standard for online giveaways. I have a few rules for the giveaway. The first is that you MUST be subscribed to my blog via email. If you win I will email you at the email that you use to enter the contest and I will check that email against the list of subscribers I have. That is the one “required” method of entry. There are a bunch more ways for you to earn EVEN MORE entries! The second rule is that if you’re a friend of mine or a family member you can’t win, sorry mom! And that’s it! Those are the only rules! Rafflecopter takes care of the rest and they will choose the winner randomly. I will contact the winner from MY EMAIL address, which is MyEmail, and not from any other email. However, the winner will also be displayed BY Rafflecopter through their widget both on my Facebook page and on the original contest entry page. If the winner is not eligible (ie: somehow a friend or family member of mine), or does not respond to the email I send, I will select a new winner the following week.

So that’s it! It starts today and ends at the end of this month, in about two weeks! Thanks for being awesome!

PS:

Don’t forget: Sharing is caring!

Sharing is Caring 2

Day 1 Update: Hello everyone! So happy to see that people are entering! Rafflecopter tells me I have 20 entries so far. This includes multiple entries by the same people, since you can enter a few different ways! A few people have entered 3 ways! That’s awesome! I’m so happy to see that people are engaging with me on my blog & Facebook & Twitter. I have always wanted to try Facebook ads, and since I’m trying to get the word out about my giveaway, I thought it would be a lot of fun to see how these Facebook ads really work. I am considering writing a piece about them and how/ if they work for small-time bloggers like myself. Anyways, I just wanted to write an update, and let y’all know how this is shaping up! This is super exciting for me! I can’t wait to see who wins!

Just a couple days before this ends, update: Hello again everyone! This giveaway ends soon! It’s been a lot of fun so far, and I certainly appreciate all the “likes” and Facebook shares. I also really appreciate the comments on here! It makes it a lot more fun for me 🙂 I know you’re excited to see who will win! I just want y’all to know that I will be picking the winner after 5pm EST sometime on June 1st. The winner will be announced here, on this blog, and I will email the winner using the email they provided, from the email I listed above. Then I will email the prize to the winner in the form of a virtual Lululemon gift card. I wish you all the best of luck!

Winner has been announced! Hello everyone! I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who entered, commented here, Tweeted about the giveaway, followed my blog, followed me on Twitter and visited my Facebook page. THANK YOU AGAIN to everyone who entered! Don’t worry if you didn’t win this time! I’m sure I will have  another giveaway in the future! 🙂

Upload, A selection of favorites

Hello everyone!

I don’t often cover uploads, but I really wanted to share some of my favorites from this week with you, and since I’m officially off school, I actually have some time to write! This week, I have a question of vital importance!

WHAT BRA IS THIS:

Did I miss this somewhere? What bra is this? What pattern is this!? I must have missed it or something, but if you know, please tell me in the comments. This was in the photos for the hat also pictured, the “Baller Hat.”

Next, I also have thoughts to share!

First of all, Lululemon has really done a great job on upload this week. I see a bunch of things I want!

Let’s begin with these shorts:

The Wunder Shorts. They come in a 2″ inseam model and a 5″ inseam model. I am very excited about the 5″ inseam model, and I do feel like Lululemon customers have been asking for quite some time for a longer short. I have a feeling that these will sell out. I may pick up the Full-On Luxtreme model.

Then, there are the High Times Pant (Wing Mesh), which I think are so cute, but buyer beware, they do have negative reviews from last year, and one new review from this year that’s less than enthusiastic. I just happen to think they’re cute- that mesh placement is so fun!

Then, of course, this gorgeous thing: The Coast Wrap II. I’m very tempted by the Heathered Alberta Lake one.

All the details really attract me to this piece. There are pockets, you can wear it all the way done up, or with the buttons undone and it looks just as good, as in bottom left photo. There is an interior phone pocket and a hole for your headphone cord- although, I use wireless headphones, I still appreciate the thought and extra detail. What do you think about the Coast Wrap?

Next, these beautiful High Rise Wunder Unders in Space Dye Camo Alberta Lake Fresh Teal. I put the Vinyasa Scarf in the same color next to them, even though it was uploaded last week, because I think I’d rather get it than the Wunder Unders. So pretty over that Coastal Wrap.

Speaking of Wunder Unders: Here are the Foli Manifesto Bali Breeze Tofino Teal Wunder Unders. They are absolutely gorgeous! I got the CRB last week, and I hope they come out with Speeds in this print!

Tofino Teal WU 2

What did you like from this week’s upload? I just wanted to share some favorites. Share your favorites with me on Twitter or in the comments below!
