We Made Too Much Predictions

Hello everyone!

Hope your day is going super! I just wanted to take some time to talk about the most recent upload and recently uploaded items. This post is going to talk about my predictions for what will go on sale. Disclaimer: I am not clairvoyant. I can not actually tell you what will go on sale, some of the things I predict will go to WMTM will actually just end up in the outlets. Also, some may not end up on sale at all. In addition, these are just MY opinions. What I think will make it to WMTM is not even necessarily a reflection of the attractiveness of the item and I explain my reasoning for each below. So, if you like an item, go ahead and buy it! Who knows!? Maybe I am wrong and it will become a coveted Unicorn!

This is being written before Tuesday evening, which means that by the time you read this these items may not be the very most recently uploaded.

The first item that I predict will end up on markdown is the “Easy As” jacket. It comes in Dark Olive, Midnight Navy & Black. It’s made from Glyde fabric which is water repellent. At $168, for what is a very plain-looking jacket, in my opinion, it isn’t worth it. I will not be surprised when I see this on markdown.

The second item I predict will make it to the sale rack is the NTS Jacket. The fabric on these jackets actually feels nice, but to me, the shape is not as flattering as many of the other offerings that Lululemon has. This jacket also looks a little short on the models, although, they may be 5’10 or taller even, given the industry. To sum this jacket up: It looks boxy. It retails for $128. I think they can knock off $30, sell it for under $100, and still make a decent profit.

The next item in my WMTM prediction list is this Sole Training Short Sleeve *UV Protection. This, in my opinion, is actually a really pretty T-Shirt. However, I also think it is slightly overpriced. I will not be surprised to see it on sale for $15- $20 less than its current retail of $68.

The next WMTM prediction is the Smooth Stride bra. Many of Lululemon’s non-core collection bras end up on the sale rack, so I feel like this is a really safe prediction for at least a $10 savings. The Smooth Stride retails for $58. I am especially optimistic in terms of it ending up on sale for this bra in the Henna color (bottom of photo), and I also feel safe predicting that most other (if not all other items) in this Henna color will end up on the sale rack. My opinion is that it is too close to a flesh tone for many would-be buyers.

The final item I predict will end up in WMTM are the Reveal 7/8th Crops. These are pretty cute, actually, but the mesh, that is shown in the right-most photo looks large and therefore fragile, in my opinion. I can see it now, one day, I’m walking along in my Reveal crops, the next, something gets snagged on those large holes. Additionally, I feel that the mesh is overdone in these and by Lululemon lately in general. But for the mostpart these scream fragile to me, and I just can’t afford $118 tights that I’m afraid to wear.

What do you think will make it to WMTM? Let me know in the comments! Do you agree with my predictions? Disagree? I would love to hear from you!

May 17, 2017 UPDATE

I found the Easy As jacket on sale for $129

I found the NTS jacket on sale for $79

Also spotted the Smooth Stride bra for $34

Calling ALL Current and former LuLaRoe Consultants:What Do You Think?

*LuLaRoe Consultants, current and former, please fill out this survey!*

Hello everyone! I recently wrote a post where I did my best to show the difference between Lululemon and LuLaRoe. I admitted in my post that I had never tried LuLaRoe, and the truth is that I really want to learn more, so I can do a better job of writing about it. I am very curious about this recent phenomenon, but there isn’t a comprehensive source online where I can learn about it. I have written a survey. It’s as long or as short as you want to make it. There are 3 multiple choice questions, and 4 open answer questions where you can write as much or as little as you like. I’m not collecting email addresses. I won’t and can’t sell your information, since I don’t receive it, so it’s all completely anonymous. I am just genuinely curious about your experiences and I want to write a better blog post than the last one I wrote describing LuLaRoe. I want to know what I’m missing, both good and bad. I want to hear what you really think. If you LOVE LULA, I want to hear all about it! If you were enchanted once, and are no longer, please let me know!

My goal is to reach a better understanding of the business opportunity so that I can tell other people about it. If I get enough responses, I will be writing a follow-up post. Please help me help future LuLaRoe consultants learn about the business!

Thank you in advance for any guidance you can give.

PS: I am not now, nor do I intend to become a LuLaRoe consultant. Just a curious lady who wants to hear your story 🙂

Quick Updates- Lululemon Upload Spoilers

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to post a quick update. I saw some Facebook updates from different Lululemon stores and if you just can’t wait to find out until tomorrow, well, it looks like we’re getting a new To & From capsule.

Pictured above are the Love Tee III, Vinyasa Wrap II and Get Ready Jogger Swift.

Note: It says “Get Ready Jogger Swift” on the post, but I wonder if the “Swift” is simply the fabric. I will update as soon as I find out!

Also: Here’s a sneak peak of a new pattern coming out tomorrow!

Looks interesting. It would be amazing in a bright color! Says me: lover of all bright colors.

Let me know what you think! And as always, thanks for stopping by!

Invigorate 7/8 Tight & Fast And Free Tight Fit Review

Hello Friends!

Thanks for stopping by! I am so glad I found time to get into the Lululemon store this weekend! I did really want to try out the new Invigorate Tights, since I heard that they are replacing the Inspire Tights. I prefer the Inspire Crops to the Inspire Tights, but will still miss them if they’re phased out forever.

I found the compression of these to be very similar to the Inspire Tights, and the fit was similar too. Definitely true to size, in my opinion. I enjoyed the fit, but didn’t love them- so they stayed at the store. I also didn’t love the print- Daisy Dust Alpine White Black/ Black- but I am curious as to whether my store will receive the Deep Rouge or not. Very  pretty color, that Deep Rouge. As always, quality matters, and fabric is an indicator of quality. That said, the black ones I tried on were 77% Nylon/ 23% Lycra. The printed ones I tried on were 69% Nylon and 31% Lycra, and were lined in white, for those of us who like to be aware of these things.

Next, I tried the Fast And Free Tight. These are amazing. You might be able to size down, I stayed true to size. The main thing I loved about these was that they were incredibly comfortable. The fabric was so soft and light, but I didn’t feel that they showed my flaws the way other non-compressive legging do. They are the “Naked Sensation” and definitely have that ‘barely there’ feeling with only light compression. Of course, they are a forgiving black, perhaps another color may have been less forgiving. These boast 83% Nylon and 17% Lycra. Main drawback, and one of the things that made me leave them in the store: they retail at $128. I may reconsider on markdown, or if they come out in another color.

I found another picture of these!

The girl in the back is also wearing the Invigorate Tights! She looks amazing in them!

Upload: Signs of Spring

Hello everyone!

I am actually pretty happy about the upload this week. I don’t love everything (the Glide and Stride line is mostly not my style), but I can see signs of life (Spring) in Lululemon’s color palette. And this pleases me.

First off, I did notice that the Define jacket I saw in the listing for the headband a week ago has been uploaded, so if you’re in need of a red Define jacket, there is one online now. I already have the Diamond Jacquard Berry Space Dye Define, so I likely will not get this one, but it is a pretty color. Also: it’s not black or some variation of black.

Now, on to other things.

I am a very big fan of the new Veridian Green items. All the Swiflies look fabulous in this color.

I also noticed a few items in the new Lip Gloss color

While I do like this color, it looks so similar to Boom Juice, I’m afraid to add any of it to my collection without seeing it in-store first. I hope I can do a color comparison for y’all!

I really like this new Smooth Stride tank. It’s made of Seriously Light Luxtreme. I don’t love the sea spray alpine white dark chrome color, but am liking the Veridian green. The black one is nice too, but… it’s black.

While I know that people are always excited to see new Align colors, doesn’t Blueberry Jam just look like a slighty brighter version of Midnight Navy? I know a lot of you out there would love to have both, but do you need both? Are these different enough to justify having both? Let me know what you think. I would probably choose Blueberry Jam. Which would you choose?

Finally, these new Wunder Unders caught my eye. I would LOVE to see them in person!

This color is called Heathered Deep Navy. It is gorgeous.

Did you like anything this time around? What do you think about the new colors? Let me know in the comments!

Happy International Women’s Day!

Hello fellow women!

Today – and today only, Lululemon is offering 21% off at their stores for in-store purchases. I have also heard of some people calling and their stores allowing them to make purchases and shipping items to them. Of course, it is up to your individual store if they are offering the sale at all, but I’ve heard a lot of people confirming that this sale is going on. So, before the end of today, go get you some Lululemon for 21% off!

This is from Cleveland’s Lululemon regarding the sale. Be sure to call your local store to see if they’re participating!

Happy shopping!

Let’s Chat about LuLaRoe

Hello everyone and WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

Given the snooze-fest that is Lululemon, as of late (I CAN NOT WAIT until they get the Spring collection online), I thought it would be fun to write about a company that is constantly showing up in my news feed. I want to write this article for a couple of reasons. One reason is to dispel any confusion regarding any link between the two companies (there is none), and the second is to talk about LuLaRoe as a whole and give my severely uneducated opinion on a company whose clothes I have never tried.

Truly, if you like LulaRoe, I encourage you to continue to indulge. However, several articles have popped up in my news feed regarding the declining quality of the clothing, so I decided to do a little research. In addition, I’ve seen questions on Twitter about whether LulaRoe and Lululemon are the same thing. If you are here regularly, you know that they are not. However, there are some people who may not know that, so I’m writing this article to highlight some of the differences. In addition, I have also come across somewhat more substantiated claims that LuLaRoe and Agnes & Dora are the same. Well, they do have similar models in that they are both sold by representatives. The clothes look somewhat similar to me, but there are articles and YouTube videos, so you can decide for yourself about that. And while I can’t say for sure that these companies are in fact the same, what I can tell you is that the owner of Agnes & Dora, Elizabeth (Buffy) Bandley (maiden: Worsley) is LuLaRoe founder Deanne Stidham’s niece. So, are LuLaRoe and Lululemon the same? No. Are LuLaRoe and Agnes & Dora the same, you decide.

A question on Twitter about whether Lululemon & LuLaRoe are the same

I recently came across this article: This clothing company is facing claims that its ‘pants rip like wet toilet paper’. It’s a Business Insider article with the most thorough description of the problems LuLaRoe is having with the leggings, in my opinion. LuLaRoe is a relatively new company (started ~2013 or 2014- I’ve seen both and their website doesn’t specify), and it is a company with a multi-level-marketing compensation scheme. I am going to try my best not to let this color my opinion of the company, but to be honest, I am not a fan of MLM-based companies. However, let’s begin by addressing the BI article:

On Quality:

Honestly, growing companies have hiccups. When you add 33,000 consultants in one year, you’re going to have growing pains. However, that does not absolve LuLaRoe of its corporate responsibility regarding quality. And there are a few points to touch on here, so please bear with me. Actually, kudos to you if you made it this far down! Let me know if you did in the comments! Haha!

  1. Hire fewer consultants. Easy task. First off, there is already talk that the market is saturated with LuLaRoe. (On this note, I found many websites with articles on whether the market was oversaturated with LuLaRoe. However, they all had clear bias either for or against LuLaRoe. It was my intention to find something less biased, however, there doesn’t seem to be any websites without opinion-based articles on whether the market is saturated or not.) If the market is oversaturated, LuLaRoe should slow down on-boarding of new consultants. As I understand it, there is already a queue to become a new consultant, so perhaps the wait should be lengthened even more.  Or perhaps the market is not oversaturated, in that case, my advice is the same. If your company is growing so quickly that it can not manage quality, growth must be slowed, quality must become the priority and the queue, therefore, must still be lengthened.
  2. Monitor Quality.  Given the pace of growth of LuLaRoe, quality monitoring must be maintained throughout the supply chain. When a company is growing quickly, that company may change suppliers or hire an extra supplier to keep pace with demand- and that’s OKAY! In fact, it’s probably the right thing to do! However, the new supplier must be able to produce a quality product, and again, that product must be quality monitored so that the consumer who is demanding the product because it has always been good quality can receive the quality product that they want.
  3. Develop a better return policy. I’m the first to admit that Lululemon’s return policy is not the best. Athleta’s is, actually.  But if a product gets random holes in it, or pills beyond belief or has a general quality issue, Lululemon will take it back. The reason so many customers and consultants are angry about the recent quality issues with LuLaRoe’s clothing is because they have to return the clothes to the consultant. And it can be difficult. Maybe the consultant won’t accept the return, maybe the consultant no longer sells LuLaRoe and can’t be found- who knows!? And the consultants are angry because, LuLaRoe, although they do accept returns, has been slow or reluctant to issue refunds for returned items.

On Compensation:

Lululemon and LuLaRoe also have vastly different compensation schemes. Let’s discuss LuLaRoe’s first:

It works like this: You sign up to sell LuLaRoe, your “sponsor” receives 5% of your sales as a commission for getting you to sign up. You sign up your friends to sell LuLaRoe, and you get 5% of their sales. Most people know this, but this business model can only be recycled 13 or 14 times before everyone on earth is selling a single MLM product. In my research, I found this better, and more entertaining (albeit, NSFW) description of MLMs here on John Oliver’s YouTube channel.

LuLaRoe Lingo:

Team: Your “Team” is comprised of everyone you sign up, and everyone they sign up in turn. The people beneath you, and the people beneath them.

LuLaRoe Levels

Sponsor: As a sponsor, you can earn 5% of the sales for each friend you sign up, as well as 3% of the sales for each friend that they sign up. However, you, personally must be ordering 175 pieces a month to qualify for those earnings.

Trainer: In order to qualify for trainer status, you need to have a minimum of 10 people on your team who are ordering 1750 pieces or more per month. In addition, you need to be ordering 250 items per month. However, if three of the people on your team are ordering 175 pieces a month, then you can reduce the number you need to sell by 50 items per person, to a minimum of 100 items ordered per month. You might also qualify for “Leadership points,” which allow you to share in the profit pool. The profits you receive depends on the number of people who qualified that month, and on the profits, of course.

Coaches and Mentors: The next highest ranks comprise the fewest number of people, and the bonus structures get quite complicated. However, they are explained in some detail here, and here. The first site is a “pro-LuLaRoe” site, and the second is an “anti-LuLaRoe” site, so you get both sides of the story.

Anyways, this type of compensation structure encourages something common in the MLM industry called “becoming garage qualified,” or simply put: stockpiling. You can’t qualify for the bonuses that make selling worthwhile unless you are ‘qualified’ and in order to qualify you have to order a certain amount of product, so you continue to do so, hoping in turn, that everyone you signed up to sell LuLaRoe also meets their order quota, so that you can qualify for the bonus attached to them making that quota. It is cyclical and it encourages stockpiling.

As opposed to Lululemon, that of course, is a publically traded company, whose stores are corporately owned (they’re not a franchise) and that does not sell wholesale merchandise. Meanwhile, LuLaRoe’s compensation scheme and the independent representative model described above is quite different. So, ad nauseum, they are not the same.

This post is not meant to be anti-LuLaRoe, and again, if you love it, by all means, buy it! Some of the prints are really cute in my opinion. And that’s all this is, an opinion. If you’re thinking about selling LuLaRoe, congratulations on thinking about starting a new venture! Entrepreneurs are important to everyone’s continued economic success! However, I do encourage you to do your due diligence, and check out LuLaRoe’s financial disclosure statement. At the end of the day, buying or selling- it’s your choice! I do, however, hope that you found this helpful. And I also hope that it solidifies that Lululemon & LuLaRoe are not the same thing.

Thanks for reading. Please let me know your opinion in the comments, and also, if I got any of my information incorrect, and you have a better source for me to cite, please let me know.

Edited to add LuLaRoe’s Financial Disclosure Statement. I suppose it is easier to see it here, rather than click off to a link to view it.

Better Things to Come…

Hello everyone! The last few weeks have been snooze-fests for me, in terms of uploads. I’ve been visiting my local store and checking out uploads on Tuesdays, and I’ve been less than impressed. Lately, I’ve really enjoyed the “Hot Like Agni” line- with the exception of the pants, but the crops, bra and singlet were all lovely. Other than that, I have found Lululemon’s new offerings bland and uninspired. Unfortunately, beginning around the holidays, Lululemon switches to a black/white/ and sometimes pink colorway. It stays predominantly black & white until the end of the holiday return period, so that returns can be easily integrated into the color scheme on the sales floor instead of sticking out too much. Then, along come the early Spring releases. Aren’t they usually out by now? Last year by this time we already saw some coral (Make A Move shorts) and bright pink (Speed Track shorts). Remember the Capoeira pants? They came out around now last year too.

Capoeira Pants from late Feb 2016

This Tuesday, the upload consisted of some muted blues and a bunch more black, white and grey. There is a lovely red color that reminds me of Cranberry called “Deep Rouge.” I am somewhat excited about the Cool Racerback in that color, but nothing else so far.

However, I did notice this gem in the product information for the Fringe Fighter in the heathered version of this Deep Rouge color.

That’s a pretty gorgeous Define jacket right there. Perhaps a sign of better things to come.

In the meantime, I’m missing pretty pastels and bright colors. I can’t wait for the palette to change from muted, autumn tones to bold, lively spring ones.

What are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments!

About the Nulux Pants

Hello everyone!

nulux-pants

I saw these pants in my store and I just had to try them on because I’m all about loud prints! The print is so bright and fun in person! Unfortunately, I put them on and immediately noticed that the waistband was not secure (too loose) on me. I saw a few reviews online that said that people were having problems with slippage and having to pull up their pants during physical activities. I can definitely see myself having the same problem, which is ultimately why I chose to leave these at the store.

I did also want to let you know that I also found that these were sheer on me. Now, maybe it’s also because my body is just not made for these pants, but I did find them to be sheer in a deep bend. To be honest, it wasn’t that bad but I’m not the only person who thought that they were a little sheer as there was also one other reviewer who tried these and expressed a similar opinion. Her three-star review is pictured below. Again, it wasn’t that bad, and the main reason I left them there was the waistband, but I just thought I would let you know.

screen-shot-2017-02-04-at-5-49-34-pm

I also took pictures 🙂

Here is a photo of the hang tag and the tear-out tag. I will say that I love that they’re 83% Nylon and 17% Lycra, that’s great. The issue for me is the thinness of the fabric. I will also say that it’s great that they’re lined in light blue instead of white. Here’s the thing: I’m not paying $128 for even just mildly sheer pants. Remember when Print Fullux Wunder Unders were $92? LuluAddict commented on that in a post about pricing increases in 2014.

screen-shot-2017-02-04-at-6-13-18-pm

She was 100% right! I mean, I wasn’t shocked that Lululemon was raising their prices (because after all the scandals, why not double down?), but I was pretty shocked about how fast the prices were going up at the time that she made that post, and now, looking back on it… Well, I’m not surprised that she was right that the Fullux Wunder Unders increased in price- I mean, we all knew that was coming!- But I AM SHOCKED that they’ve gone from $92 to $128 in less than 3 years. I’m seriously thinking to myself, that is a price increase of 39%!

At the end of the day, I don’t like the price hikes, but I would be happy to pay more if there was an increase in the quality. If there isn’t, it is just a disappointment.

Anyways, here’s a photo of me in the pants, and I really do love the print, then a photo of the slight amount of sheerness that I experienced. I see the rip-out tag, do you?

At the end of the day, whether you buy these or not is a personal choice, and I maintain that the principal reason I didn’t pick these up is the waistband, but the sheerness is an issue too- especially considering the price. What do you think? Will you get these pants? Is the waistband an issue for you? Did you experience any sheerness? How have you felt about the price increases? Let me know in the comments here- or tweet at me @lululemonexpert.

The Ultimate UNICORN Location Guide

cropped-lululemon-expert-2.png

Hello everyone! This is a post that I have been wanting to write for a while and I’m so happy that I’ve finally found the time to do so. I am really really excited about this post because I definitely want you all to be able to find your unicorns!

On Unicorns: My definition of a unicorn is that it is your unicorn. A unicorn in the traditional Lulu sense is that it is a highly sought after item that is difficult to find. When I use the term, that’s often what I mean, but I can also mean something that is special to you. Sometimes my unicorns are not really all that highly sought after, but they are rare. I hope that when I talk about unicorns in this post you understand that I mean all types of unicorns, whether they qualify in the traditional sense or not.

There’s a reason why my mascot is a Unicorn. (Isn’t she so cute!?) It’s because I LOVE Lululemon, and I LOVE all my unicorns. There have been a bunch of ways that I have captured my unicorns- at the right price- and I want you all to be able to use these strategies to catch your unicorns at the right price for you. Honestly, I can’t guarantee you’ll find Quiet Stripes for $50, or Tribal Wanderlust Wunder Unders for any type of reasonable price, but for unicorns that aren’t the top 0.01% of popularity, I think my strategies, plus a little patience, will pay off. PS: I already wrote a post on how to find the best deals on Lululemon. That’s about the best deals over all, this post is about how to find rarer items at a semi-reasonable price.

Here’s a pic of those Tribals, only [sarcasm] $480 right now on eBay.

Screen Shot 2017-02-03 at 10.48.11 PM.png

Let’s begin, the following are places where you can find your unicorn, along with sporadic advice on how to go about maximizing the possibility that you’ll find it!

The Boards

There are plenty of deals to be found on the Facebook Boards, but there are also lots of unicorns floating about. Here are some strategies I know to use these to your advantage.

ANY of the buy/ sell/ trade or auction groups.

There are sooooo many buy, sell, trade, and auction groups that it is hard to keep track. But browsing these groups might help you find your unicorn. Unfortunately, much of the time, your unicorn is also someone else’s unicorn, which might drive up the price. However, if you’re communicating directly with the seller, you might be able to convince them to give you a deal, especially if you’re buying more than one item from them. On auction pages, I’ve actually seen (and gotten) some great deals on my personal unicorns.

Some of the buy, sell, trade, and auction groups: The Unicorn Bidding Field, Lulu After Dark, Lululemon 911, Lululemon Amuurica, Lululemon Exchange, The Lululemon Market, Lululemon Bidding Battles

ISO Lululemon

For older Unicorns, I really like ISO Lululemon. I post a photo in the size album of my choice in the color that I want to find and wait. Sometimes waiting doesn’t work. So, I’ve also posted text-based ads in ISO Lululemon offering a small “finder’s fee” for anyone who knows where I can get the item. I’ve never found my item because of the finder’s fee, but my strategy is to make sure that people know that I’m ISO, or DISO, and that I’m a serious buyer. Sometimes, people have an item that you want, but they’re not going to sell it to you because they think it’ll be a hassle. I know that there have been times where I see an ad on ISO Lululemon that says “VERY VERY DISO!!! X-Item, preferably markdown price.” By putting a price condition in your ad, you’re giving people reasons to not message you. Maybe someone has your item, but they’re selling it for retail. If it’s really your unicorn, at the end of the day, wouldn’t you rather have the opportunity to negotiate on price with the seller, rather than have them see that you’re looking for the markdown price and just not even messaging you in the first place? My point is: Unless you are absolutely firm, and that even if a NWT version of your unicorn came to fruition you would not budge on price- you should not post a price suggestion in your ISO ad. If you’re putting a price condition in your ad, you’re giving people who don’t need your money a reason to not contact you even if they have your item. Many people who sell Lululemon are not doing it for the money. Although, there are flippers out there, and you can find my opinion on them here. A lot of the people uniting other people with their unicorns do it for the good of the community, and to build their own good Lulu karma.

Other things to consider: Please respect the rules of this group. If someone creates a post looking for what you’re looking for, don’t say that you’re looking for the same thing on her post. Please create your own post. If someone has the item, maybe the seller will follow the advice provided in the rules and message each potential buyer to ask for their best and final offer, thereby giving you an equal opportunity to “catch” your unicorn.

Follow the posting rules, no pics on the wall, be sure to specify size & color and make sure you don’t use stock photos. This group remembers when another Facebook group got shut down due to using Lululemon’s stock photos. I remember when this happened as well. It was not fun. But what IS FUN is getting your unicorn! The best part of this group is that you’re basically allowed to bump your post as often as you want! This improves visibility of your post- and shows potential sellers that you’re serious about capturing your unicorn. I recommend bumping your post once a day.

A few years back, the way that I found my item on ISO Lululemon was just that: posting my ISO ad, bumping it once a day for a few days and offering a finder’s fee to show that I was serious, and someone contacted me. They even told me that they weren’t planning to sell the item, but they could tell how much I wanted it. And I paid their reasonable (IMO) asking price. It was less than what the item was being sold for on eBay, and less than retail- so, to my mind, that is fair.

PS: If you don’t know what ISO or DISO means, check out my post about Lululemon Acronyms.

Lululand

Probably my favorite group right now. This group is FULL of AMAZING Angels and the Admins do a GREAT job! I’m updating my old “best deals on Lululemon” to include this group as well, but I have found more “recent” unicorns on here for fabulous prices. I’ve seen some really fantastic deals on Space Dye Wunder Unders, the special edition reflective print stuff from this past Black Friday has been on the board recently, the CRBs that were recently discontinued in favor of shorter length CRBs… just a myriad of great stuff at amazing prices. I can’t say enough great things about this group and the people in it.

Best use for Lululand: If you think you just missed out on your unicorn this is the group for you. Maybe your budget didn’t allow you to buy that week or you were really busy that week and didn’t realize you had your eye on such a hot item- and *bam!* by the time you finally get around to it, it’s sold out! Well, you may find have missed out that week, but if you stay vigilant, and turn on your notifications, maybe an angel will post your item after finding a deal either in-store or at an outlet. Don’t forget to tip your angels!

Lululemon Store Finds

This group has lovely ladies who tell you about great deals on marked down items in-store, and although no angeling is allowed, you can call the store and have them send it to you. Again, this group is best for people who have just missed out on their unicorns.

eBay

I don’t love eBay for finding unicorns. When it comes to unicorns, they are often over-priced. But there is one strategy that has worked for me and I will share that one. It is the same as one of the eBay strategies I shared on my old “best deals on Lulu” post. That is simply this: Set up alerts for the items you want. Following auctions might get you a deal on your desired unicorn, and it might not, but at least if you see the item early, you have a chance to “buy it now” before anyone places that first bid, thereby (possibly) nullifying the BIN option.

Poshmark & Mercari

Both apps are good for finding deals, but not so good for finding unicorns. I’ve seen it so many times: someone posts a GREAT deal on a unicorn, notices that there is a TON of interest, deletes the listing and reposts at a higher price. Not fun. But, I figured I’d mention them because of those good deals, who knows, maybe your unicorn is on there after all!

Local Finds and Consignment Shops

You might be able to find your unicorn on Craigslist or Kijiji, but beware that the seller might be getting a lot of messages from people who also want her item. Consignment shops can be great for finding deals, but are a gamble on whether or not you’ll find a unicorn. It’s always fun to go take a look though, amiright?

Final Thoughts:

The best place, hands down, to find your unicorn for a moderately reasonable price is the Facebook boards & groups. The ladies on the boards are really helpful and courteous. There is a ton of goodwill built up in the community and people are always willing to go out of their way for each other. It’s really wonderful to see. These are the people that will angel your unicorn to you, tell you/ tag you in the post if they see your unicorn for sale somewhere, and help you find your unicorn any way they can! I hope that this post has been helpful.

Aside: I think it’s funny sometimes how “into” writing I get then 5 hours later, I’m like, “oh! it’s 2am.” Thanks, as always for reading. I really do appreciate you taking the time. Let me know how you find your unicorns in the comments!
