Lululemon Mask Review

Hello Internet Friends!

I just wanted to take a quick sec to talk about Lululemon’s face masks designed for comfort and protection during your day, and I guess at night too, if you should so happen to be out somewhere.

Originally, I had actually wanted to feature these in my most recent “What’s New” post, BUT they basically sold out immediately. And I can’t just tell you to go BUY something that is sold out! So, since I was lucky enough to snag some, I decided to tell you my thoughts on them- That way, when they come back in stock, you’ll be able to know immediately whether these are for you or not 🙂

First off: the fabric is soft and comfy. It’s called “Ultralu” and sort of feels like a cross between Luon and Nulu. Not as soft as Nulu, but softer than Luon, imo.

I appreciate the adjustable straps. Able to create a moderately firm seal around the face. Some air still does come up around the eye. (ie: my glasses fog a little still, but actually less than the “straps around the ear style” masks)

Other than those couple of points, I think your mileage may vary is appropriate here. These are “one size fits all” masks. The ones I bought fit me pretty well, and I would say are maybe even a touch big. One more thing: Sometimes the nose part ‘collapses’ inward. (See photo 4) This doesn’t affect the usefulness, but may affect the feel of the mask. I think I need to do some more “fitting” work with mine to figure out how to keep the nose part ‘popped’ out at all times, but I am satisfied with the product.

Have you purchased these masks? What do you think about the fit/fabric/quality? Let me know in the comments or Tweet me 🙂 Love to chat Lulu with you!

  1. I got the masks, all black, and gave them a fair trial. Love the look against the face, etc. The two overhead ties do not work for me. An over ear option would be appreciated. I ended up fabricating my own ear straps from the original elastic straps. A shame to have to remake a lovely product. Maybe Lulu could offer this option in the future.

    1. I have to admit to really liking the behind the ear options too! I wish they had them- agreed. Glad you were able to make lemonade haha, you know what I mean! Who knows, maybe ear straps are in the works!?

  2. I was ecstatic to find the 2 strap option. My son has sensory issues and will not wear the masks with the ear loops. I have been sewing him homemade masks that have two straps around the head. I sing the Lulu masks was great. They look nicer than mine (he is a teen so the “cool” factor is nice) and they were just $10 Canadian and our local store had tonnes of them. The nose piece does collapse sometimes, but we are very happy over all.

    1. So happy to hear that these work for your son! Yes, I agree, they are pretty slick looking too! Thanks for stopping by 🙌

  3. After wearing the mask for only a few hours I was left with a blister on my nose on the top of the mask where the stitching is that runs down the middle of face. Had to keep adjusting mask as it kept getting a big dint over the mouth & nose area making it harder to breath. Have to constantly be pulling mask down as it creeps up under eyes. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

    1. Oh wow! I am so sorry that happened! I hope you’re able to let Lululemon know that the stitching was rough in that area! I have had the dint problem myself, but it didn’t bother me that much. I find that tightening the mask helped with it moving around, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend that when it injured your nose! So sorry to hear this! Thanks for letting me know!
